Yep, I'm going to wait too, at least until RSI releases something that fits the rear. Hopefully, I'll be able to get a set this winter and be ready for the track next summer.
And just for the record, I don't think anyone is an idiot for spending any amount of money on the wheels of their choice. If you got the money for Bogarts or Welds, that's great, do it!!! But I must agree it is awfully rude to come in here showing off your new Weld Wheels (which btw have nothing to do with the subject of this thread), and then call our less expensive alternative "cast junk". Not everyone has the extremely deep pockets of some of you guys.

Please allow me to respectfully clarify a couple things;
-I didn't call or insinuate anyone was an idiot. I was using that as an example of why I got defensive. With that being said, I'd like to point out that I also said I'd like a set of bogarts no doubt, but they are out of my budget. They are nice wheels for sure, and I'm sure the quality if them commands a premium price. I (we) are just looking for a cheaper alternative for a drag wheel. And I felt like saying they are cast junk was uncalled for, so I felt the need to defend us guys that are exploring this option...now, back on topic!

Btw, I know most of you know that above...I just wanted to point it out in case someone late to the party just read the last few posts and thought I was calling bogart owners idiots. You guys know how stuff can get out of hand quickly!

Hey jasycz28, that would be a great drag set-up without spending a butt load of money. BTW Camarowguy, you are totally correct.

I'm thinking about doing this with my 18x11 rear Forgestars.

Im also thinking about buying another set of Forgestar fronts to have narrowed, but that would cost about $580 more that this set up. Decisions, decisions.

I thought about getting my front factory rims narrowed and the rears widened. By the time i do that, I could just buy another set of wheels just for drag. I do like the stock wheels, but they are super heavy.

Just FYI....I sent a quick message to RSI this morning to ask how they were coming with their 2010+ Camaro Fitment, and surprisingly I received a quick reply....

"We just completed our test fit for the 92 Drag Star for the 2010 & up Camaro SS. We are pleased to announce by popular demand our new 18 x 10.5. Spread the word on the forums. There are excellent tire sizes for this wheel and it will be a out of the box bolt on wheel. We should have inventory in a couple of months. Thanks Mike"

So, it definitely looks like we have confirmation that they will have an 18 x 10.5. So, I sent a response back to them asking if they have scrapped the 17" fitment. I really wish they could have made the 17's work instead, but I guess you can't always make everyone happy. On the good side, there are plenty of Drag Radials for the 18" fitment. On the bad side, no slicks. So, I guess I will be considering their 17x4.5 for the front (must have the M&H 28" bias ply front runners), and the 18x10.5 for the rear. Hmmm, kind of a weird set-up, but I guess it will work!!!

And here is the second response I got this morning (never seen Mike answer e-mails before, this is great!!!)....

"I spoke to Mickey Thompson and was told slicks for the 18 x 10.5 will be no issue. The 17 x 9.5 is so tight there could be trailing arm issues on a launch. A compettor has already experienced that. We have had a enormous amount of requests for the 18 x 10.5. The Dark Stars will be in the end of September. Keep me informed if you don’t mind. Thanks Mike"

Sooooo, that's some big news....Maybe M/T is considering making some 18" Slicks?!?!?! That would be cool!!!

More good news....the new 18x10.5 will be a "direct drill" bolt-on, not their "uni-lug" design. So it will manufactured with the 5x120 bolt pattern. But I think the fronts (17x4.5) will remain their uni-lug design.

That's cool! i think I will get the fronts. Then when the 18x10.5s come out I might try to sell my 18x11 F14s and get those for the matching set.

I asked about the front fitment and the availability of their "special" lugs....Here's what I was told....

"We will have the 14 x 1.5 lug kit available as well. These are designed for this wheel and are required to validate the wheel warranty. Feel free to drop me a line or call anytime. Thanks Mike."

So, I'm not sure if they have these lugs available now, or if that means they "will" have them in the near future.

I found these on Summit http://www.summitracing.com/parts/CRR-27845-4/ but don't know if they would fit.

Maybe Camarowguy can measure the Race star lugs his friend has. I also just emailed mike about the hub centric rings. I don't know where we would find those separately.
