i put about 8k in mods on my leased camaro. then bought it out soon after. but ya one point in time there was 8k into this car when it was still a lease. lol

but if i was keeping it a lease. it would have tints and a exhaust.

Check your lease. In some contracts if you modify the car in any way you now own it and have to buy it.

I was told they don't even lease Camaro's but maybe that's because I was going with the 2SS.

As the others here have said I wouldn't mod a lease unless I had the intention of buying at the end.

An issue I see is that even if you do mods that you can take off easily when it's time to turn in the lease, what are you going to do with the mods you just removed and saved?
Wouldn't it depend an leasing a new car at that time and re-installing those mods on the new lease? How can you predict that they will fix the next car?

Or did you just figure that if all else fails, you'll be able to resell those mods to someone else.

Just wondering.

Aside from that, if spending money on all those mods makes you enjoy the car more during the next three years while you're leasing it, then it may be worth it just for the enjoyment value.

it's all up to you. Just realize up front that you probably will not recover the value of the mods at the end of the lease.

I have a leased vehicle for my business. That's about the only time it makes sense to me... you can more effectively deduct the cost of a lease depending on your business setup (s-corp, llc, etc)

when i was younger, i leased a vehicle, just to be able to get more car than i could afford at the time. regretted it, personally. You sink a ton of money in and do not come out of it with an asset.

Well, if you want to get down to the nitty gritty, modding any car doesn't make financial sense.
I do mild visual things to some of my leased cars and I've always been able to get 50 cents on the dollar back or more when I sell the items. If you mod your purchased car you aren't going to be doing any better than that, at best.
If I leased a '11 Camaro for 3 years and 36k miles and GM(Ally) offers me early termination if I get another GM car + payoff the remaning payments + give me $500-1000 to buy or lease another GM car, I'm gonna move right into a '13 Camaro.
It's seamless. The guys who bought, have a car to trade in or sell.
last year I got early termination on my '07 SRX and bought the last of the remaining '09 SRX's for $13,000 off.
And if you use your car for business then leasing makes huge sense.

if you want to move in and out of different cars every few years it also makes sense.

LOL. @ people who say it doesn't make sense. You are driving a Camaro, what is sensible about that? I know I've owned 5 of them.
