I live in a town FULL of car theft..we're ranked one of the highest for car theft in the U.S. and this whole trunk opening repeatedly accidentally is not helping my situation at all..im tired of coming out of the gym or school to find my trunk is open. i know theres threads on this in the past..but any updated solutions?

Tie it down?
Keep a mean dog tied up in your trunk?
Hire a midget to sit on it while your away?

Seriously though, how about be more careful with the key fob? Or how about parking your car far away so that it's out of range of the key fob so it won't open?

Wear looser pants. I have nothing on the key fob, and keep it in my pants pocket. Never once had the trunk unintentionally open.

is there a fuse for the trunk release? if so pull it and use your key to open it

Only way to open the trunk is with power. No key hole.

I think I did it once by accident because I hit the wrong key. How do you keep having a problem with the trunk, I have never heard of this being a problem. You are going to have to figure out what you're doing to open it all the time, that's the only fix.

I think this is mainly a problem for those of us with the M6. The A6 trunk release button is half the size of ours due to the engine start button. I have seen a few post on it but no solution yet. Someone was going to make something that forces you to push the trunk button twice to open it. Mine used to open so often I am now in the habit of checking it before I go to bed. If you keep your keys in your pocket and are being active within range of your keyless entry than you can bet the trunk will pop.

You have to crawl into the back seat and squeeze the seat back over on the driver's side and there is a keyhole to open the trunk. INConvenience store?

At least with motorized hatch release that was on the third gens, if you hit the button but didn't grab and lift the hatch in time the motor would just pull it back down and re-lock it.
