I am sure it did, why do all these stupid mustang guys come on GM sites posting this crap I here this crap all the time from a handfull of mustang nut swingers! This guy ran 11.80s with just a tune and intake, like anyone believes that... but he forgot to mention the race stars wheels, wight reduction and tires I find it funny that everytime I have been to the track and seen these 5.0s run there not ANY faster then the 5th gens! I still have yet to even see one break into the 11s with bolt-ons and tires So were are they all at... I only see them on the internet Last time I was out there was a 5.0 with a tune, full exhaust, intake, ported TB and mickys on back... He said his best time before the tires was 12.80! He was running 12.30s, but I guess hes just that much slower everyone else

That still doesn't look like the stock exhaust to me. Look how much it sticks out behind the rear valance, there's no way that's the stock exhaust.

His 11.44 run was on race gas with skinnies on the front. For 10's he is going to need more power as he has reached his limit.

DA was around 500' which I would love to have here. The 11.63@118 I ran was in 2,500' DA.

Nice times on his side for sure.
Alot of deception about these 5.0's when it comes to being up front about actual mods. Maybe we should be talking about the racing shocks and suspension parts, driveshaft, swaybar delete and light weight radiator support, gutting interior of seats and light weight driver seat, gutted trunk, diff girdle. I love these high dollar shop cars acting like joe average throwing on tires and a canned tune and running low 11's.
No doubt the 5.0 is a great car, I almost bought one but far to many owners have this chip on their shoulder about it and it rubs me the wrong way. Snob comes to mind.

idk the exhaust on that mustang does look aftermarket. At least from that angle it looks bigger on the tips than normal

The black car appears to have a stock exhaust that doesn't look similar to the picture of the Kona Blue car you posted earlier. I've replaced the a/b's on two '11+ 5.0s now so I do have a pretty good idea what they're supposed to look like - the exhaust on the KB car sticks out too far to be stock, IMO.

You see that everywhere though. Strangely, everyone's definition of a mod or "stock" differs. Some people think putting a tune and slicks on your car is still stock. Some people think an exhaust isn't a mod. It's rather subjective and it really shouldn't be. If your car didn't come from the factory like that, then it's a mod and you're not stock.

I drove the GT and BOSS 302. I agree with the OP. I don't understand his judge of top end, but the Camaro is definitely longer geared, requiring less shifts, despite the lower redline. I also checked out a GT-500 and must say it was night and day vs the GT. I think the 6.2L LS3 has a lot more potential than anything Ford's working with however.
Also, the issues with the camaro suspension can be straightened out with and easy to install, relatively inexpensive set of stabilizer bars.
Also, the camaro weighs more than the stang, but is more comfortable and is a more enjoyable ride. I also hole-heartedly agree that the SS has a better muscle car feel / vibe to it.

Here's how I compare the two:

Throttle Response: Camaro > Mustang. I felt like I had to put the gas pedal halfway to the floor to get any kind of action. I'll chalk that up to not being as familiar with the 5.0 transmission as I am with the SS.

Acceleration: Camaro = Mustang. The mustang felt a bit smoother (maybe its the suspension, but more on that below) but not any faster or slower than mine.

Top end: Camaro > Mustang. I judged it from a downshift at about 65 mph. The mustang felt a little flat and seemed to "float" compared to the SS.

Suspension: Camaro >>> Mustang. It is like a night and day difference. It felt like I was sliding along on a stack of marshmellows or something, very squishy. There was a lot of play in weight transfer and it just seemed squirrely to me.

Interior: Looks: Camaro < Mustang. Function: Camaro > Mustang. The interior seems a little bit more polished, and the cup holders have the cool blue ambient lighting built in. One major problem though, my elbow kept getting gouged by the handle to open the center console. The guages were harder to read, but then again I've got a HUD

All in all, it wasn't a bad ride, but just solidified for me that the camaro is the better car.

As far as track performance goes, he and I were both running 14.3s, 14.2s etc pretty consistently untill he got a pair of slicks and dropped to a 13.1 (remember were up here in colorado, the elevation kills our performance.) Needless to say, I already have slicks planned, he just got his before mine lol. Point being, in a straight line we perform similarly untill the slicks get involved, so i think it comes down to a personal choice, but the Camaro seems to have so much more of that muscle car feel to me.

...Huge wall of text, I know, but im bored at work....

Now now you do not think any of these high profile mustang tuning shops would ever deceive the public to gain more attention to their shop? All the above are great examples of ways to trick the public, another is the special race fuel tunes.

If I were buying a race car, I'd agree with you. This is my DD.

I just did an x-pipe on my 2012 about 30 minutes ago. At first I didn't have the clamps on right and it made the mufflers stick out just like that with the stock mufflers. So I can believe it is stock because it is easy for the mufflers to slide back like that if the clamps aren't tight enough. I had to loosen them up and kick the mufflers in until the bottomed out and then get them really tight.

i still dont believe that look how big those exhaust tips are on that mustang those cannot be stock. they are way bigger in that mustang pic than of the stock one and you also would see the mufflers sticking out barely on the stang, but you dont in the one with DR. It has to at least be a axle back exhaust
