Jewel's Journal
After having the car for several months now it is time to start my build thread.
Build Date: Feb 22, 2011 Adoption Date: April 9, 2011 My Camaro is a 2011 2LT/RS RJT. I named her Jewel and that is where I got my Camaro5 user name from. I have been obessed with the 5th Gen Camaro since the Summer of 2008. I finally had my dream come true back in April when I drove her off the lot. Here is a picture of her in my driveway back in WV. Here is another picture of her with my Cavalier (my DD) Mod List: RJT Engine Cover Black Tail light Bezels Magnetic Rear Blackout Camaro Lettering Delete RJT/Black Bowtie RJT/RS Fusebox cover MRT v2 exhaust 20% Window Tint Trunk and Front Bumper Blackouts Roto-Fab Cold Air Intake painted RJT ZL1 Front Bumper MPD1 Rear Diffuser Painted Black Pacesetter Long Tube Headers Elite Catch Can VMAX Black Ice-Olator VMAX Spiral Ported Throttle Body Vitesse Throttle Control Mods that need installing: Hehehe, I aint tellin' ZL1 hood insert Apex Air Scoop Dyno: June 15, 2013 - June 28, 2013 - 1/4 Mile Times: Awards: 2013 Miracle Cruise Auto Show 3rd Annual Camaros for Heroes Jewel

The first thing I added was this RJT engine cover to Jewel. I purchased the cover from 15thCamaro over the 4th of the July weekend. He sold his V6 and got a V8. He wanted someone to have the cover that loved Camaros so he sold it to me.
I then painted my bezels with plastidip. Then added a magnetic blackout, which I hope to do vinyl or paint in the spring. I am not sure if I want to keep the bowtie. Suggestions are welcome. My car was vandalized over the summer and when they repainted the car I had them remove the Camaro lettering. I really would like to replace them with black lettering someday.

Keep the bowtie. A local guy took the bowtie off and did the black strip and it looks weird. Leave the bowtie but an RJT one.
Engine cover looks good. RJT looks very nice with white rally's! |

Thanks for the advice. I was thinking of removing the front bowtie and keeping the back on and painting it RJT. I think the front looks so clean without the bowtie. This is something to think about over the winter and look at more photos on C5. My rallys are actually silver. It is a mistake a lot of people make and the pictures are not all that great. Thanks for checking out my thread. Jewel

Jewel, I would keep the bowtie, and color match the chrome part with RJT and paint or plastidip the inside black to match the rear strip and underneath diffuser. It would pull together the RJT and black and still look suttle. OOORRRRRRRR RJT the chrome part and silver out the Bowtie to match your rallys, it would be a bit brighter but still stay within the color theme of your car. Just my .02
