Members of this forum are no doubt pissed Chrysler stole the name "Redline".

whats the torque rating? They have the Challenger "drag pak" with 600 hp and I think 560 torque. But thats an 8.2L V-10. I'm thinking it might be better with this 7 litre HEMI if the hp and torque are so close.

I still don't care for the body lines, the fake vent half way up the door doesn't lead itself to sporty. If anything it looks like a ricers hood scoop that's double sided taped to his hood. I'll keep the Camaro and they can keep their horsepower.

Not really. Most of the aftermarket performance parts from the various OEMs (including most crate engines, like this new 426) are not certified for use on public roads. Many of them probably could pass the emissions tests, but it probably just isn't worth the cost of getting everything certified to find out.

Stage Three
Not one prone to compromise? Then this is the Redline for you. This beast builds upon the Stage Two with an extra 220 horsepower over the Charger R/T thanks to the new 426 Hemi crate engine that is delivering a ridiculous 590 ponies. This engine is also 100 lbs lighter than the standard 426, featuring a forged-steel crankshaft with six-bolt mains at two, three and four, and cross-bolted four-bolt mains at one and five. H-beam style rods are made from forged steel and coupled to forged 11:1 compression ratio aluminum pistons. Included is a revised windage tray to provide excellent oil dispersion and prevents oil aeration by the crankshaft.
If this sounds just too darn good to be true, that might be because for most buyers it will be. How come? The engine (unfortunately) is only rated for off-road/track use due to a lack of emissions compliance, so don’t expect to fetch the family’s groceries in this Moparized Dodge.

Not as a "fanboi" of MOPAR but I like the concept of a 426 cid n/a 590 hp in any American Muscle car..........

I really hope Chrysler get off their asses and realize people want this and get the emissions junk taken care of, they really need to get back into the modern muscle race. And if they supercharged that 426.....hello Mr Shelby

the fake vent by the door is styled from a '70 charger r/t. long before there were ricers running around.

I was told before that if you were to pull those vents off of a '70, it has the same indents underneath as a '69, and not all the General Lees used in the TV show were '69s, but some were 70s made to look like '69s.

Still not a style I care for regardless of its heritage

For the price that it would cost there are so many other cars I'd buy that would be so much more fun. If your only goal in life is to go down the 1/4th as fast as possible get a beater and install a crate engine+blower and other stuff. Then you'll have two cars!
