Im on the same boat bro, many say its not too bad but some say it must go. I remmebet the same thing with my LT and MRT v1. Everyone used to go with v2 because of the drone. I loved the exhaust.

I ran the Flowermaster with AMF for about 4months. It honestly, was not that bad. It's a lot more noticable when it kicks in but its not that bad with some music on. I was overally impressed with the flowmaster set up, though. It gave it that muscle car sound, and its not that much louder until wide open throttle and it also sounds GREAT! with headers!

What you say is unfortunately true, many of them are pinching pennies.

Mine had low octane when I brought it home and I'm sure that many Camaro5 users have had the same experience.

Yeah, that's what I said but after a year and a few near misses from the hesitation, I'm almost ready to pull the trigger and tune it out. It's not the sound that bothers me, it's the pause in between the time I hit the gas and the car moving forward that troubles me. It's dangerous.

This is mis-information. The Solo J-Pipes are a muffler delete system. How can they be quiet ?
If mine were any louder I would be reluctant to drive the car for fear of being ticketed.

The cat-back has a muffler built into the x-pipe; axle-back is a muff delete, which is supposedly a bit louder. I think some of the quietness we're hearing is because the cabin is so well insulated. The Solo vids with the camera right behind the car sound pretty loud.

The J pipes are not a muffler delete. They're resonators that get rid of drone.

Ya, My Solos are the Axle Backs. I was parked next to an SS with the borla exhaust last summer
and my Solos were so much deeper and more aggressive sounding, again imo.
Also it may be my immagination but the Solo's seem to get louder the longer I have them.

So I'm on the fence... can a new 2012 L99 owner tell me if you notice the AFM in yours?

My Mustang is being lemoned over the crappy Getrag 6-speed and I'm starting to get concerned about what I'm reading here and at the Challenger Forums about the Tremec. SO... I was considering the Automatic but not if the AFM is really noticeable and causes a delay as some here describe.

On my test drives I didn't notice it but they were short drives. Would love your opinion!

At first I didn't notice it either, but I really didn't know what to listen for. The sound gets really annoying because it wants to go into 4-banger mode all time, even when cruising around town. I didn't notice much hesitation, but it does need to transition from 4 to 8, which will never be instantaneous. The auto is great once you get it tuned, but a lot of people don't want to say bye bye to the warranty.

I have exhaust and an intake on my L99 (Solo Axel-Back and Airaid intake). I drive in sport mode using the tap shifter which disables AFM. The caveat to that is from M1 you have to up-shift to M2 then back down to M1 before driving. This disables AFM every time in my car without fail. I do notice a slight decrease in mileage, but it is worth it. I hate AFM, but am dealing with it due to the warranty. My Camaro is my DD and I drive in traffic so I didn't want the LS3.
