Bfc replica wheels peeling

I have the gloss black/machined replica wheels the 20" and the back two are peeling? How is a machined face wheel peeling? The black is perfectly fine. Any solutions to what I can do? Could just the face of them be chromed?

I purchased "factory GM" chrome wheels just for that reason. I read here the GM wheels are superior to the replica wheels- Looks like that's the case.

Do you think I could get chrome over top of the machined part now?

Most machined wheels require a clearcoat applied to keep the bare aluminum from oxidizing or getting water spots. You are likely seeing the clearcoat peel off.

So do you think they will be able to be fixed?

Not easily. They would have to be stripped and re-painted. I'd suggest finding the manufacturer website and seeing if they have a warranty. Most brands have a 1-year finish warranty. Hopefully your wheel seller can assist with that info. I don't carry that brand, so I don't know this info. Wish I could help!

I got them last year brand new with p/zero tires from a camaro5 member who changed his mind.
He said they were from calchrome.
Beautiful chrome and the wheels are stamped "GM" on the rear of each one. I only use these in the summer
but the chrome has held up very well.

I had this problem with some ZR1 replicas I had on my Z28. They were black with a machined lip. The black paint always looked awesome, but after about 3 years, the clear coat on the lip began to peel and flake in some spots. Never curbed the wheels or tires, so I guess these replica companies just have trouble getting clear coat to bond to bare aluminum. Contact the company and see if your still in warranty.

I have the factory MS 20"s and the only thing peeling out are my two rear tires. Strip your wheels with paint stripper and repaint.

The black is fine it's just the clear coat on the machined face peeling. I have the exact same wheels, how long have you had yours?
