What to do about exhaust pipes squeaking?

I checked them on a lift and sure enough its the pipes. The mid-muffler doesn't lay flat on the center brace anymore since I added the axle-back and headers so the whole thing sways( I believe) when I make turns causing it to squeak. If anyone has had this problem or just has some ideas on what I can do to help support the pipes better I'd appreciate it. Maybe tac some hang-out to the pipes or shim the center brace to support the mid-muffler? Thanks.

exhaust shouldnt touch center brace may cause KR and a loss of power. Try loosening catback joints and lifting with a floor jack in the center and re-tightening the exhaust joints to raise it.. If you do not get .5" of space you may want to try adding some spacers to your brace. :-)

+1 to the last post...I lossened everything while the rear was way in the air, put a small jack with a peice of wood under where the brace is. Jacked it up about an inch and and tiightened everything up... However, once I went to 3" pipes, I did away with the tunnel brace all together. i have not noticed any ossues what so ever by removing it.

I still have the stock resonator from the L99 and I know its fairly heavy but its not resting on the center brace anymore. Maybe the weight of the resonator is playing a part the squeaking sound. I plan to have a resonated x-pipe installed in its place do your think this will help?

a new x pipe will help alot...that stock resonator is a freakin beast...the new x pipe will allow the system to be more flexible and will stay in place better when torqued down

The point is, it should have NEVER rested on the tunnel brace. There should be a large enough gap to keep it from resting or even hitting the tunnel brace. If it's squeaking, something isn't tight enough. If it's "thumping" when you drive on bumpy roads, it's hitting the brace. Each has a different fix.

No thumps it just squeaks. I tightened everything the other day and it still squeaked. I'm positive its the exhaust system, from headers to tips. You can shake the pipes right after the cats and before the resonator and it makes the exact same squeaking sound. Hoping after installing the x-pipe that it will make a difference. Like others said I may have to loosen the clamps and jack up the center pipes and then tighten up the clamps.
