Dragging tips

I think I am posting this in the right spot. Ok well I have the V6 1LT A6 and was wondering what is the best rpm to take off and and if it is better to put it in manual mode or just keep in in drive.

Thanks
Alex

manual mode. and you can stage the car by holding the gas and the brake until the car is about to break loose usually 2-3k rpm.

make sure to turn the nannies off. hold the traction button until both lights turn on.

Think that depends on tires road condition and weather. if you have good tires its fairly hot to make the tires sticky and the road has good traction. should be fine, mine will break loose around 2,500 rpm. tryin 2k first

The A6 for the LLT has an open differential and is difficult to launch. Most have had their best success by:

1) Lower the pressure in the rear tires to around 25-28 psi.
2) Increase the pressure in the front tires to around 40 psi.
3) When doing your burnout take both traction control and stabilitrac off, hold the break and apply the gas until they spin then slowly let the brake up so you start moving. If only one wheel spins then repeat this step.
4) Before you roll up to the line turn both traction control and stabilitrac back on (yes, it works better that way on our cars but not the SS)
5) For you first run hold the break and take off just above idle (about 1000 RPM). If you don't get spin then increase that to about 1200 RPM. Keep doing that each run until you find a good spot where there is little or no wheel spin.
6) MOST IMPORTANTLY, HAVE FUN.

Press it once and it turns off the traction control. Press it twice and it also turns off stabilitrack.
