Yeah after a mod here and there you think man I can really tell the difference this ------(fill in mod here) made, then after a while you can't really feel the difference anymore. That's how I've felt, but when I drive my Sierra PU or my wife's 4 Runner, I realize just how powerful that big ole 6.2 lt V8 is. BUT I STILL WANT MORE!!!!

I agree with responses relating to human condition. However, there is nothing like an SS with way more than 400hp., no delays in acceleration. For me because of the weight of the SS I feel like I'm driving a pick-up truck, and 400hp. just doesn't seem to be enough for a sports car, muscle car, whatever you want to call it. Just isn't enough. Perfect example ZL1 580hp. Why? Because 400hp. just isn't enough on a 4k/lb vehicle. Simple.

Don't confuse the issue with the facts!!!..lol

Just made me think of how they only used to put the big motors, hemis, large ci and hp in the giant land yachts of the 50's...because they needed it!...lol

The question is as old as the annuals of time and older than horses themselves. In fact more horse power in reality is often used mistakenly in conversation. More speed is a better definintion....................Cave men themselves were'nt satisfied, well their counterparts weren't.............................

In the advent of the first wheel it was discovered that it was very difficult to push primative squared wheeled carts down hill and stay in control....shortly thereafter they discovered two wheels were better especially while pushing carts back uphill.

In as much, and more factually, speed was invented by cave women.........being the duties of cart pushing were assigned to them ( womens equal rights hadn't been heard of/ invented yet). By shear necessity and the discovery of the day calender (Time management-another male invention) cave women who already had full schedules between sun rises and sets, were taught to learn to be more efficient.

They had to figure out among themselves how to speed up collecting the necessities of daily life.................and after many sleepless nights of trial and error ( Pushing carts downhill and then uphill) cave women discovered that if the corners of the squarish stone blocks were chipped off, the rounder the wheels, the faster they were able to push larger and heavier loads. This discovery was recorded as one of the greatest of all time, outside of the personal uses for sheep skin ( though cave men took credit for it too).

Cave women from villages near and far were thrilled knowing their female counterparts had actually figured out how to speed things up, being each of them were responsible for the hunting, cleaning, cooking of fish & game, building fires, hut construction and preventive maintenance, being responsive, submissive and tlmely mates as well tending to Bam Bam & Pebbles needs.

Are you satisfied with your current numbers or are you still on the hunt for more? I say option 2.

Shovan,

Lets just say that I am not where I intended to be when this started... My car is still on a very conservative build tune... With the install of the new AMS 1000 Boost controller, the nine inch diff kit, the race built transmission, etc, we are finally ready to see what she is capable of...

We are thinking close to 1000 RWHP on pump gas, and then add a 200-250 wet shot of nitrous.... and see what happens... We are currently only running 12 lbs of boost, and 12 degrees of timing... and there is a lot of room for both of those to increase... With C-16 Race fuel, who knows...

My first comment was said tongue in cheek and with a big smile...
