Tips for best launch A6-V6

Besides "S" mode, shutting off the traction control and padel shifting are there any other techniques for getting a good launch? (just on the street, stop light to stop light)
Thanks

I'm also interested in some advice. I tried today a couple of times but seems that my tires spin a little before taking off !

What is the proper way to get a good Launch ?

Traction Control on or off ?
Tire Pressure
S Mode or M (Paddles)
Rev the engine to 1200 or a little more while holding the brake ?

Thank you for your suggestions

I got 2011 ss L99 A6.
Keep all traction controls off.
If you have stock wheels, dont worry about the tire pressure if you are on the road, if you are on the track if you got 30 psi bring them down to 20 psi. You will know what adjustments you have to make after your first run.
You get more response with the paddles, only if you can get the tap shifts down, you hit the rev limiter, the car will stall.
Hold the brake all the way down, got to 1500 rpms and you should be good to go. Hope this helps. Let me know what you think

My best launches came from flashing the torque converter, slightly above idle. Basically left foot on the brake, right on the gas. Raise the RPMs slightly above idle. When you are ready to launch left off the brake and slam the gas in one fluid motion... The V6 seems to respond better to the "flash" method than the "Stall" method..

Don't bother with the paddle shifters, just leave it in "S" mode.

Traction control... I tend to leave it on for peace of mind... if you are hooking it really doesn't slow you down... and of course spinning gets you no where...

For tire pressure... i might lower the rears a little bit, but no much. Inflate the front tires to 45 PSI or so... that way they will roll easier...

Thanks Guys. What is the difference between flash and stall modes for a torque converter.
Need to go to the track and check out these techniques.

This is great advice. It's what I do to get sub 2.0 sec 60' times. I set my rears to 25 pounds. Only turn traction control off if the track is sticky, otherwise be certain to abort the run if traction breaks else you could be in wall quick. I think I got my best times with traction control on.

If I do this, all I get is my tires spinning...at least on a public road.

Without TC on...I simply cannot do a hard launch without lighting em up.

I think scrming's "flash" method is the way to go.

I wish I had an opportunity to do this on a very sticky/prepped surface once.

this works well. Just have to go to the track now. Spot on about the paddles, have to hit them just right or else the rev limiter kicks in ARG.
This site rocks, thanks folks
