Not a bad idea. If your going for the "murdered out" look then the only color you should have is black. IMO

if you are going to use plasti dip, practice on something before you take it to your emblems. its easy for that stuff to bubble up and have a rough texture.
if you are going to use flat black, and gloss black for the details you better be pretty careful too, but i dont think any of that would show up unless you were 6 inches from the emblem. id just coat it in flat black and hit the 'V' with some red like you were talking about.

I thought about using the drumel with very fine (220) paper to rough it up a bit so the primer will hold, use 3 light coats of paint (both colors), and satin clear the whole thing. To hold it on, I'd cut the pegs in the back (no holes in fenders) and use the same tape they use on the lettering, etc. Does that sound about right for the process? (body shop guys chime in & thanks) |

I honestly think there shouldn't be any color or chrome on the car if you want to properly black it out. This includes calipers, emblems, tail lights, windows and grills. Whats the point of blacking out your car if you're going to break up the black with color? You may as well just not black it out then because breaking up the black defeats the purpose. I say this because my cousin's CLK63 AMG is fully blacked out and it looks badass. At night with the lights off it looks like a shadow.
For me, personally I want my next car all black but I'll make an exception and paint the calipers brand-new-penny-copper. Thats it no more color. And hopefully that car will be a ZL1 or CTS-V coupe.

Ughhhh I saw a flat blk range rover and thought WTF? but it still looked cool! I saw a flat blk 5.0 a while ago and it was pretty intense.
