I don't have a 5th gen currently. I've owned 2 2010 2SSs though. I had a black M6 that I got in 2010 and traded it in a year later for the car in my sig. I never should have sold that car. I got rid of it when I got the Avalanche. One of those decisions I wish I hadn't made.

I work at a Chevy dealership so I'm getting employee pricing and rebates and I have a $1000 private offer. I'm getting really good pricing on both cars. The leftover 2011 is over $5k off of sticker and 0% for 72 months. It's a great deal on the car, I'm just not sold on silver or the automatic.

Go with a Smart car. http://www.smartusa.com/models/passi.../overview.aspx
0% for 60 Mo. 15000.00$, great gas mileage! Convertable & I think 15 inch tires. You will still be the talk of the hood. Lol

How is the payment the same for the 2LT and 2SS? Either the 2SS has a ridiculous discount on it or the 2SS is for a longer term.
Nahh, I don't want to drive a Cruze daily. I have another truck at home so this will be my fun car/daily driver.

The 2SS is a leftover 2011 so I get all of the dealer cash, plus the employee discount and rebate and I have a $1000 private offer.

MSRP is 38,250 and I'm buying it for like $32,XXX plus tt&l. With 0%, it's the same payment as a 2012 2LT that has an MSRP of just over $32k since it has 3.9% interest and no dealer cash.

Sounds like you might as well go with the 2SS to me then if you can deal with the color and automatic transmission. Personally I would not go with an automatic, and it sounds like you would rather have the stick as well.

Maybe Memorial Day will bring some incentives/financing on the 2012's?

Negative. My manhood must stay intact with whatever I buy. I might as well give up my man card if I buy a smart car.

Oh didn't know you didn't have the SS anymore. I would say got V8 then. If that's what you love your just going to be killing yourself for not getting it in the first place. Just curious why did you sell 2 5th gens and now want another?

Nahh, nothing for Memorial day on Camaros. Some models get extra rebate but Camaro is not one of them

I sold the first one because black was such a pain in the arse to keep clean. I bought it because it's all I could get at the time and I had just sold my 2001 SS so I needed a car quick.

I searched and finally found my white 2SS which was exactly what I would have ordered. Drove that one for a while and decided to get the Avalanche because it was a great deal and we were talking about getting a boat. My commute was shorter then too. I ended up switching jobs and making less money so we decided the boat was a no go.

I figure if I'm going to get a car that's more fuel efficient, that's also in my price range, I might as well get another Camaro.

Can you have the dealership buy you a used SS at an auto auction for cheap and sell it to you for pretty cheap?

I have looked into that as well. I'm the inventory manager at my dealership so I have access to all of our auction data. I check everyday but the 2010's are still bringing good money and I would end up having a payment very close to the new 2011.

If the right one came along with really low miles, I would consider it. I've even called dealers on Autotrader to see if they would wholesale a car to us but the price has always been higher than what I want to pay.

Can you find a dealer within a reasonable distance with a 2011 in a color you would like better and with the LS3 and trade the silver 2011 for their 2011?

I think you can do better at another dealership. I found mine and spent $9700 under the sticker at 0% +TTL. I say shop around and find another 2011 you like better and see how much they really want to get rid of it and what loss they are willing to take, then pull the trigger on the better deal.
