2010 Windshield Molding

Had to remove the windshield last week to replace the heater core. Dealer farmed it out to 'Glass America' in Tampa. Everything's great except the molding.
Not sure if you can see from the attached pics, but the white Camaro is mine and the molding is clearly not properly fitted in the corners. The black is a pic of another Camaro I took on the lot and shows what the molding should look like.
I brought this up with the svc dept (they're great at Gordon Chevy in Tampa, all stars) when I picked up the car last week. No problem - they called Glass America and the gal at GA agreed to send the tech out this am to my house to fix this problem.
So the tech calls about half an hour ago and says he recognized the issue but nothing can be done. There are no issues of integrity with respect to the molding he used. But it's impossible to get OEM from GM, he said. I asked if that was an assumption and he said it might be. .
So I told him I would check to see if the OEM molding was available and if so, I'd ask him to replace the windshield again but this time use the right molding. He said OK.
I sent the dealer an email but also wondering from the talent on this forum - anyone run into this issue? Anyone know if the original windshield molding should be available?
My feeling is that Glass America took a short-cut and got caught. But they'll probably claim the dealer would have to pay for any add'l work and the dealer might cry foul. We'll see - first thing is to establish that the proper molding is available.

I think what they did was reuse the old molding, on some new car windshields the molding is replaced with a new windshield and is not made to be reused.

Have the glass company remove and replace the glass with a new molding, or remove and replace the whole new windshield and molding.

All dealers are cheap they will try to get away as cheaply as possible don't stand for that.

If they used the old molding then why is the fit messed up? Because they didn't glue it?

Just spoke with the dealer. They're going to give me a new windshield with new molding and have GA swap it out in my house once it comes in.
Gordon Chevy in Tampa - they rock!!!

We are very happy to know that you have a dealership that was able to resolve the concern you were having with your windshield! If you have any additional feedback that you would like to share, please don't hesitate to contact me via PM.
