1993 Firebird Formula
Well I sold my 94 Camaro. So I'm looking at buying a 93 Firebird Formula. Car has around 100k miles. Car has SLP long tube headers, Y pipe with high flow cat, and a corsa exhaust. Question is will the car pass emissions in CT? I know for OBDI cars they run a sniffer, so I don't want to get this car and have to modify it just to pass emissions.
Also, should there be any specific things that I should look at when I go look at the car? I know firebirds have issues with door panels, headlights, and probably rear end whine, but let me know if you guys have any other suggestions.

I'd say that if it has highflow cats it should be fine, since it's nearly 20 years old.
First off, is it a 6spd or auto? '93s were an oddball year since they were the last cars to use a more rudimentary computer setup found in third gens before 1994 rolled around and they changed the car. Essentially 1993s were the last F bodies to use the 700R4 and the first to use the T56. 4L60s appeared in 1994. Other than window motors and a non vented opti.. I can't think of anything major to look for. Could be weather seals down the road and other seals but those are age related. Specs on the car would be nice though to see just what you need to be looking at. |

Yeah it's an auto. :(
Owner said a previous owner changed the opti. He said it was MSD, which I know have issues compared to stock GM optis.
