Got mine in April and I have 5000 miles on it. I should have more than 20k miles on it when a year rolls around.

I do occasionally wash the outside of the car but I am very sure I will never wash its undercarriage. I will wash the outside before this weekend so I don't get dirt on the racetrack. Monday we will post a video of Sunday's autocross.

I machine airplane parts for a living and I've used my ZL1 to deliver some parts across DFW. A few weekends ago I laid the rear seat down so I could get my fishing gear in it.

On the road, compared to my truck it is nicer, more comfortable, better on fuel, more fun and gets way more thumbs up from people. At $12,000 a year it is the cheapest and most rewarding racing I have ever done.

I'm not going to let the weather prevent me from getting my hard-earned money's worth out of my first ever new car.

Well let me put it this way I've been too low on cash to drive it for two weeks (have a company gas card for the work truck) and it hasn't rained once made a little extra $ on the side yesterday and its been cloudy about to rain ever since, mother nature is just waiting to hear my Zs exhaust as a starting pistol for the rain. With that being said my car is #40 so it was one of the cars that got to sit under a blanket of snow so I haven't been that concerned with getting it wet I just hand dry it once I get it back in the garage.

Every Camaro has been wet at least once in its lifetime and was a torrential downpour for several minutes..

It's one of the last steps they all go through (even Corvettes) before leaving the factory to check for leaks.

These cars are actually built to withstand the elements.. contrary to popular belief.

Mine only comes out when there is 0% chance of rain. With black your always washing it, so I don't want to have to wash it yet another time because it got caught in the rain!

Do you do it all the time, or have you just been caught in it. What happens? Do the tires melt? Does the engine blow up? Does the paint chip off with every drop that hits it? I know some of you are going to say,"It gets wet when you wash it". But we all know thats not the same!! Let me hear from all you "Z" owners... Before I go crazy!!! Thanks!!!
Sadly I drove 6 hrs home with mine and got caught in a monsoon,
no kidding it rained so hard. it was in the St. Louis area . coming from Branson, Mo. to Southern Il. It rained for about 2 1/2 hours as hard as it could rain, and it drove beautifully. Drove right by most everyone, unless
they were driving wreckless. water was ponded so bad when you hit it
you could feel the loss of contact with the road, but the rest of the car
made up for it( nannies on ) it is more that capable of taking on the worst of conditions. When I got home it was about midnight, and went straight to giving her a bath, to bring back her pure beauty that so captivated me
when I picked her up. The beast was filthy on top of that. Heavy rain and lots of big city road grime can really attack her outter beauty.
Now the only time she gets wet ( not my wife ) is at bath time .

Know What You Mean About Brake Dust - Has Anyone Changed Pads To Low Dust Or Done Anything To Get Away From All The Dusting?

A nice ride through the country and a stop for lunch or dinner! It's a BLAST to drive and always gets compliments. I simply enjoy having it sit in my garage, completely spotless along with her Jeep and my Harley. Hell, every time I get home from a motorcycle ride, my Harley gets wiped free of any dirt, bugs, etc.. A lot of people don't mind the filth, I do.
That is one beautiful motorcycle

I refuse to pay the money for more brake pads until i have to. When she needs them, Ill change them. A few people on C5 said that armor all wheel protectant worked. I tried it.... I really didnt see that much difference. Plus if you use it you will have that slight white film on a few areas of the polished parts of your wheels(not alot, but still). I just take a damp microfiber towel and wipe em down!! Nothing can take the place elbow grease and sweat!!

Unless your car is a complete garage queen, sooner or later it will get rained on. At least you got yours out of the way fast!!!

My windsheild wipers have never been used and never will. No rain for this car. It gets wet when I wash it which is after every time I take it out.
