Is Anybody as nervous as I am about....
Having purchased my 45th Ann. Camaro about a month ago, I've been reading all the problems of other owners (oil leaks, PCV issues, M6 trans problems etc)
Here's my question. Since this is obviously a Camaro forum, What do you think is the actual percentage of these issues arising ? 1 out of 100, 1000? 5 out of 250 etc...... Or is this just the fact "squeaky wheel gets NOTICED"

Every car is going to have issues and people generally voice when they are having issues more than when the car is perfect. I wouldn't worry too much about it. I had a 2010 that had countless issues and still traded it for a 2012 45th. Until you have an issue just drive and enjoy the amazing car.

I think for the most part the complaints and issues are voiced more than the people that haven't had any problems. I wouldnt over think it, get out there and enjoy that Permagrin.

There's a zillion posts where people have stated mileage without problems. Well meybe not a zillion, but enough to know that these cars are more problem free than not. I'm at 24k with no problems except a cracked wiper cap which was replaced under warranty.

Take that car out, enjoy the shit out of it. Take appropriate steps to mitigate the risks associated with owning a performance car obviously, but don't baby it. |

Gotta look at it this way. Its a forum..........its the internet. Only believe what you can verify.

Agreed - Online forums are like fly paper. Fly paper is designed to catch flies, but when you look at it, every dang bug under the sun gets stuck to it. C5 is the same way - you'll have every story under the sun. Read them and and move on. If you spend too much time dwelling on the "potential" issues, you'll never enjoy the car. And these cars are made to enjoy!

I agree with everything already stated - so here's my vote of confidence! Brought my 45 home Feb 2nd and no problems. I did have the 'smelly a/c' issue, but never took it in due to a crazy schedule and it went away on it's own.

Enjoy the car. The forum can do just as much bad as it can do good. This is my second C5 Camaro and have not had a single problem yet. Can't say the same for my 2011 RAM.

I hate to stereotype because I adore this car but as the old saying goes about american made cars... Also had the same fuse burn out 4 times...until they basically replaced the works on it... |

Well I love my Camaro. But....she isn't perfect.
Dealertrip one was for some horrible paint issues...no action taken by GM. Dealertrip two was for a bolt on something that came out and got stuck in the decklid. Dealer says they can't get it out. Now I'm scheduling dealertrip three today for a bad rattle from under the back of the car. Started day 1 but has now progressed. Used to only hear it on big bumps, but now it rattles with every crack in the pavement. Anyway, no two are really the same. I wouldn't worry too much. They are nice cars, in any trim. |

People complain a lot more than they advertise that they are satisfied...
