Just when I thought they couldn't sink any lower...

I was searching Google for my name, as I sometimes do, and stumbled across a review with my name on it. It was my Camaro dealer, and my salesperson. I did not buy a truck, nor did I submit a review. Not happy.

Oh hell naw!!!

I've found my truck on eBay a couple of times advertising bushwhacked fender flares. I felt a little honored and a little betrayed. UNTIL I read the fine print where I gave them permission but taking words out of my mouth about a purchase I did not make? Ridiculous!!!

Yeah, I would be all over that. I would make them even give you some camaro accessories to make up for using your name and reputation under false pretenses!

I forwarded it over to my buddy at the dealership to see what he comes up with. This salesperson has more reviews than anybody else at the dealership. It's clear that he's promoting himself. Imagine that; they're all 5 stars. LOL.

He was a good salesman, though.

The ugly truth: dealers do this all the time. It's sad, but we actually have someone who gets paid to just post glowing reviews everywhere on the net about how great the dealership is. Said person will also post phony bad reviews about other dealers to make them look bad as well.

And when we get a real review that isn't 5 star...well...somehow those always seem to "disappear" from the site.

It's all political b.s. to make the dealer look attractive. I can tell you this: you guys who don't work in dealerships would NOT BELIEVE the lengths these guys will go to try and sell you a car. Seriously. Alot of it is less than legal as well.

That's likely what I'm going to do. I'm just pissed because my name is attached to a statement that I didn't make. He did a great job; if he had asked me I would have written a favorable review. Man, I hate dealers' games.

Maybe write a few bad reviews about what he did. Sure he will probably get it taken off but maybe he will think twice before he uses someones name..
