bumper indentation

So out if nowhere there's a 2" long vertical indentation around where the plat would be (don't have or want) it appears something like another cars plate cover pressed up against it and u can see the line at most angles when looking for it. No paint issue. What could I do short of replacing it repainting to repair this? Its one of those things where I'm torn between cost/benefit...ideas?

The bumpers are plastic. Take it to a good Bodyshop and they can heat it and pop it right out or try it yourself. Just takes a lil heat to get it plyable.

You think heating it would get t vaback to normal by itself? I was thinking of it but don't want to make it worse...its right under the bowtie so I can't get behind it...u think just hitting it with a hairdryer and pressing on the front would help? Its not going to pop, its like indented slightly.

I've got a place on the front of my bumper where I indented it by hand removing a rock nick. I took it to the dealer and their bodyshop guy tried to remove it with a heat gun held some distance back and pushing from behind the dent, but it didn't work. I was suprised that I damaged the bumper that easily. I've removed or reduced indentations by using heat before on my Honda. A hair dryer isn't going to hurt the paint and is certainly worth a try.
