The V6 Camaro is more powerful than the 4.6 Mustang, although a little down on torque. I realised that in the six years of owning the Mustang, I had never taken it to it's full potential, and that a mere 312bhp would do. The 5th gen Camaro has styling to die for, and is pure street theatre, which means more to me than absolute power. Plus as coyotekiller succinctly put it, I am a cheapskate The cost of gas here is about $8.50/gallon.

$8.50 a gallon? Damn. I'm only paying $4.05 for non-ethanol 93.

Last Mustang apologist I met coughed so hard when he spoke his glass eye fell out of his head and rolled across the gas station lot. I was tempted to quickly pocket that prosthetic and flee in my Camaro but I didn't have the heart to commit such a callous and devious act. He was a very nice guy.

I traded my 2008 Mustang Bullitt in for the first gen 5 Camaro L99 I bought. Pre fuse pull mod, I thought the Bullitt was faster (13.6@107) and that I had made a huge mistake buying the Camaro for performance (13.6@108). After just a few performance mods, the Camaro became the most fun car I've ever owned out of 75. Ended up best of 12.4@113 and very satisfying. Haven't beaten that yet with the C6, but waiting to put my headers on on Monday...that should do it.

They do have Prius forums. My coworker drives one and he is a member of a Prius forum. As for performance parts, I've never heard of them.

Is your corvette an auto? Friend of mine was running a 2008 manual vette and turning times around 12.65@115, or somewhere there abouts. And his car was stock from what I remember...

SVT is mentioned:

1 on the Faux Gas Cap
4 on the Rims
1 on the Gauge Cluster
2 on the Hand Built 5.4L or 5.8L
5 if you count the Snakes which were on the original SVT Cobra's

Shelby is Mentioned:

1 with the Shelby Badge on the Trunk
1 on the Faux Gas Cap
1 on the Nav Startup Screen
1 in the name of the car

The reason it's called a Shelby GT500 is because Ford has gone the distance with the Retro theme. They brought back the Boss 302, a 302 Engine and a lot of the styling cues are a lot more retro than the Camaro. Hell I don't even believe the Camaro qualifies as a retro throw back. It just has styling cues from past generations...

Me mainly cause I couldn't find a deal that was financially suitable for me and I honestly didn't want to get in over my head by buying an SS.

Agreed. I made my purchase purely on looks
