Or blown head gaskets, damaged pistons, lifted heads, damaged valves. A motor designed for 87 octane compression should not be using anything higher. Especially racing fuel!!! I don't even understand why this topic is up for discussion.

If you have a LS3/L99 you run premium

If you have a V6 run 87

End of story...

You better make sure it isn't AVGAS - Aviation fuel which is 100LL "Low lead" which is NOT good for your engine. If it's blue don't use it in your car !!!

Most people smuggle it off a local airport... there's plenty of it to be had there. Not a great idea for a modern automobile...

The octane rating of a fuel is it's ability to resist detonation (higher meaning more resistant) and does not mean the fuel is any more volatile. Therefore using high octane fuel in an engine not designed for it will just damage your wallet.

What if I put lettuce leaves into my fuel tank?

But anyway, for those that say it's okay to use lower grade, do you need to run the higher grade to almost empty before you put something else in, or can fill up lower grade, say, with half a tank of higher grade and mix it? Or will that just screw up the computer system?

The proper way to do this is to drain all premium gas out of your tank. Make sure you get every drop. Place in clean, aproved gasoline storage containers and bring over to my house and I will properly dispose of it for you. If you insist on mixing make sure you know the amount of each octane fuel that way you can work out the average to determine your now mixed fuel octane rating.

That seems like more work than it's worth. And anyway, are you even legally certified to dispose of my higher octane fuel? Hmmmm?

Well if you make a mistake, and put in High Octane, you can always cut it with a little Sugar.

Stock? RTFM

Tuning? RTFM

Either? FTFM

Or did ya think they wrote them to wrap fish in?

Absolutely, We have two premium disposal units on 4 wheels. Theres also a mower and 4 dirtbikes that work as disposal units. 2 other 4 wheel diposal units but they might go into shock if they tasted premium.
