JDP Motorsports DRL Harness

JDP Motorsports is proud to announce our Daytime Running Light Harness is now available!

This harness provides a relatively cheap and easy way to get the fog lights at night that our cars should have had from day one.
This harness will allow normal operation of your RS DRL or "fog" lights during the day, but will also turn them on automatically with your parking lights at night.

Our custom handmade DRL harness is completely plug and play, made with OEM connectors (not cheap knockoffs), and utilizes diodes to block unwanted and potentially dangerous electrical feed back.

We've tested these for well over a year on several 2010, 2011, and 2012 RS package equipped Camaros, and have had flawless dependability. Installation is super easy, and can be done without removing any parts: just reach up from underneath the bumper, unplug the factory harness, plug the JDP harness in between, and done!

These go very well hand in hand with our plug and play LED projector fog light bulbs to match the factory headlight color, which will be available soon, but will also work with all the other bulbs out there if you don't want to wait.

As always, feel free to call, email, or PM us anytime!
Thanks!
- Jeremy

We have a sale thread in the Vendor Section HERE. We're not allowed to post pricing in this section but this was an announcement thread.

That is correct. I don't have a picture of the other end of our harness at the moment but what questions do you have? Please let me know.

Be careful turning your DRLs into fog lights especially if you swap the bulbs to actual fog light bulbs. Many states have laws dictating when and where they can be used. As an example here is Oregon's Law.

Quote:
According to Oregon law, auxiliary and/or fog lights must be used like the high beam headlight system of your car. They must be dimmed or turned off within 500 feet of approaching an oncoming vehicle and 350 feet when following another vehicle. The color of auxiliary and/or fog lights is also regulated. Fog lights may be either white or amber (yellow). Rules prohibit other colors such as blue.

If your car came equipped with auxiliary lighting, O’Leary recommends knowing where the switches are, and how to use them - at least to turn the lights off, and leave them off if you don’t want to deal with dimming.

If you plan to install fog and/or auxiliary lights as an after market feature, it is important to know that Oregon has adopted special rules that manufacturers must meet. Products are required to be labeled that the product is not to be used on the street. Manufacturers must meet or exceed SAE and/or DOT manufacturing standards to market their products for street use.
I would advise checking your local law before making this mod.

Only one harness is needed for each car, it plugs in between the car and bumper electrical harnesses on the passenger front corner of the car, which then works for both DRLs.

-------

Though it is advisable to check local laws before installing any part, this modification will be perfectly legal in most states and countries, such as Oregon. Most states have a lumen or candlepower rating on forward facing high and low beams, fog, and auxiliary lights, and those are the ones restricted. Since this part is only for RS equipped Camaros, pretty much any bulb that one would put in the factory housing is well below this rating. One could put HID bulbs in, which typically have their own harness and therefore would not need this part, but then it would be illegal with this part, (but those will melt the housing, and are not recommended). Most other bulbs will not fit, and therefore have no issue.

So with this harness installed the DRL's are on all the time regardless of the light switch setting?
