I hate this and the hill assist.
How about when it doesn't go into second, you wait maybe the time it takes to blip the throttle and re revmatch second. I always did that and the skipshift never bothered me. Takes less than a second to circumvent the skipshift for me.

You mean like double-clutch revving (eg: vroooooooooommmmmm vroom)? I'll try that. I've had the indicator come on but the computer not force me to shift to 4th.

Both of my SS have had this problem. They way I have resolved the issues with mine was simple. First break in the car. Then change out the clutch/brake fluid and transmission fluid. Now have over 22k and no issues with the 1 to 2 grind. Still slightly notchy but not bad at all.

You have enough torque, start off in second when it is cold and traction is at it's minimum. Also after hard driving, Goodridge steel brake lines and Motul 600 fluid change my SS shifts smooth as butter in any condition.

Did you put in a different type of fluid or the stock fluid?

This /\ My C6 vette and my SS had the same exact issues until I simply took a turkey baster and sucked out the brake/clutch fluid and refilled. It seems its a clutch problem not tranny/shifter problem. I wouldn't argue that it's possible a bad tranny slips through the cracks and gets out the door. I also tuned out the skip shift ..

Silly question but does the 1LE have a short throw shifter OE? It just seems clumsy.

It does, but it's crisp and solid.

I've never had a manual gear box this tight and precise.

Agree! I can't shift very quickly with this shifter.

Somewhat. I'll go for second gear and if its blocked, I just slide back into neutral for a moment without releasing the clutch, blip the throttle for rev match, and put it in second. I generally can get it into 2nd gear before the message on the dic goes away so it's hardly an interruption in traffic and at lights to me.

I have had it block me from 2nd many times and route me to 4th! It shows up in the message center also...
