Arrow 2013 Rolex 24 Hours at Daytona/ Camaro Corral

I attended this event last year in the Camaro corral and it was amazing. I was close enough to touch the race cars and almost got hit by a Ferrari as it was coming off the track for repairs. The reason I am bringing this up is, I have been trying to talk to the people in Marketing to convince them to invite the Camaro community to have a Corral at this year's event. This is the email I just recieved from the guy in charge of organizing the Corrals:
Hi Glyn,

Steve Focazio forwarded me your inquiry regarding a Camaro car corral and your willingness to lead the charge in 2013. We actually do not have plans for a Camaro corral this year due to a poor turnout last year.

I would be willing to entertain the idea of adding one, depending on the interest level. Please let me know how many Camaros you think you can round up for this year’s event and we’ll go from there.

Thanks!

Jeff

As I already said, this event was amazing last year. We got ticket for 1/3-1/2 of the normal price with the same add-ons, which included: 2 day general admission, 2 day garage passes, 2 day Sprint Fan Zone passes (including Victory Lane), and parking on the lawn directly outside the grandstand( there was a mobile Dyno in attendance last year for $20 per pull). The garage passes alone were worth the $45 per person we payed to get in. Please let me know via this thread if you can definately attend so that I can let Jeff know.

Thanks guys. Sorry for rambling on. The event is Jan. 26 & 27

Sadly, we're not able to attend this event/Corral (as we're in OH), but to folks everywhere.....PLEASE get out and support these Camaro race teams and venues!!

The drivers are truly excited to meet the fans and LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the Camaros!!!

In addition to the Daytona race, there are/have been/will (or could be) Corrals held at:
* Mid-Ohio (which me/hubby promote)
* Watkins Glen
* Indianapolis
* New Jersey
* Laguna Seca
* Road America
* Circuit of America
* Road Atlanta
(* and still looking for someone in Kansas!)

Keep an eye on the Racing Discussions threads for more info.

You're able to meet the drivers, get up close to the cars and have a LOT of fun!!!

It's a great family-oriented, fan-friendly event that offers great racing that's (in our opinion) well worth the money for the day/weekend!!

So you can learn more about the Series, go to www.grand-am.com.

Hope to see you at one of the venues!!!

Awesome! Keep the names coming ladies and gentlemen. Last year the Camaros that did show up were outnumbered by Corvettes like 4 to 1. I am assuming we will probably need at least 30 to get a Corral. Even if we don't get one I will be there. So if we don't get it and you still go, hit me up. I always love to meet other owners.

Would loved to have known about this 2 weeks ago. I have already received my credentials for the Corvette Corral. I'll be at the Rolex 24th-27th, unfortunately the ZL1 will be home. Maybe next year.

I am definitely going as well, booked my hotel like a month ago. My friends dad was one of the founders of GrandAm, Roger Edmondson. I believe you met him DevilFish, he's the one with the black RS that got us in to Brumos museum. Normally I go with the Brumos Brigade (Porsches) but don't feel like spending the $200 this year since I don't spend much time in the box anyways. I'm keeping an eye on this thread and I'm holding off on buying Corvette corral tickets in hopes that this pans out! Lets make it happen!
