Nope wasn't speeding at all and I've gotten away with my tint for 3 years so I shouldn't really complain. Finally caught up with me. Smh.

I have never heard of having to do this for tint. Is this a Maryland thing?

Yeah Maryland has a tint law that your tint can't be more than 35% (slightly different law for S.U.V.'s). When you get caught for your tint being darker than the legal limit, they give you a repair order to get it fixed within 30 days or your registration will be suspended. Once you get it fixed, you take the car to a MD State registered inspection station to stamp the repair order. Once it's stamped, you mail it in to the M.V.A.

THEN...YOU GO GET YOUR TINT PUT BACK ON AND BE CAREFUL NOT TO GET CAUGHT AGAIN. LOL

I like tinted windows, but pay too put it on-possibly get ticket-take it off-your Ok now. Pay too put it back on possibly get another ticket for stupidy. Might as well wipe your self with a 100 bill -flush toilet less aggrivation and just as stupid reason for waste of money.

I've run limo tint on every car I've owned since I've been driving and never had any problems with it except for if it was on there before a state inspection. it depends on the officer stopping you, and your manners IMHO....I've had more issues with a clear plastic license plate frame and glare......I give driving tests for a living, I tell EVERYBODY, don't give a cop a reason, they will find one on their own. haha.

Sorry about reviving an old thread, but has anybody been successful, in MD, in getting the repair order stamped without having the tint taken off? I'm looking for information on the shops in Woodlawn and Glen Burnie mentioned earlier (tried a PM). Thanks!

Best most sure fire way is to get letter from allergy doc saying you or mrs or whomever, has an allergy to the light and needs to take precautions and has permission to use darker than legal tint....you can always talk to a LEO and get the information from the horses mouth and get tall the legitimate forms. My wife just carries a letter from her allergist though and hasn't had any problems with that being accepted. Just do it yearly.
