Verizon Delphi Vehicle Diagnostic

Hey guys, I work for Verizon and we partnered up with Delphi and they release a vehicle diagnostic device for us. Wanted to get your thoughts on this item.

Here's some info from engadget which has a hands-on video

More information:

Introducing Vehicle Diagnostics by Delphi

This easy-to-install Module lets you troubleshoot and monitor your vehicle from your smartphone or computer. From checking your vehicle's location on a map to deciphering engine codes from your couch, now you have the power to keep a close eye on your vehicle no matter where the road takes you.

This Vehicle Diagnostics Module is compatible with most vehicles (cars, light trucks, SUV’s, and minivans) sold in the U.S. beginning with the 1996 model year.

Peace of Mind

Locked your keys in the car? Easily unlock your car from your smartphone or PC with a single tap or mouse click. It’s like having a second set of keys with you at all times.

Check That Engine Light

Keep your hands grease-free and troubleshoot that check engine light with this powerful vehicle diagnostic tool. Securely access your vehicle’s driving data and mechanical condition from your smartphone or PC.

Peace of Mind in the Palm of Your Hand

Pinpoint your vehicle’s location in seconds and review its driving history in detail. Set up email alerts to receive notifications when your vehicle exceeds 75 MPH or strays too far from home.

Looks pretty nice. After reading about it on this site, I got an Android app (Torque) and a bluetooth ODBII sensor. This looks like it is more specifically tailored to GM cars.

Hahaha. I've worked for Verizon even before I worked for them lol. I honestly have never had any issues with my service!

Yep i'm still working for them. Waiting on my S4 to arrive tomorrow. Seems useful enough. Similar to what you get with Onstar really just no middleman.

I have a viper alarm and remote start on my Camaro. I also have the Camaro remote start also. I just went out and tested it using the factory remote, You can unlock the doors but can not open them unless disarming with the Viper remote. Next I tried the factory remote start when it started it set the viper alarm off.
it might be ok for the speed, engine diagnostics and map
display.
