Is Kenji no longer providing updates and working with the Hurst customers since Mustang doesn't have an issue anymore, or is everyone going to NH-SS, Phastek & other vendors for less problematic shifters? I canceled my MGW (back order) and went with Hurst, I'm second guessing my decision...almost to the point of regret because it appears that no one has the brass bushings available and there has been no more discussion of the race replacements.

I haven't installed my shifter and wont until there is an available solution...other than the obvious...going back to my first choice MGW.

Thapilot - if your shifter was purchased within the past 2 years you should have no issues with the new material bushings. We have not had any reported failures. However, if you are still not satisfied with these new material bushings - the Hurst Extreme-Duty bushings have been available for a few months now: http://www.hurst-shifters.com/?wpsc-...ck-xd-bushings

I had a short-throw shifter installed about two years ago, and it also has play in the shifter, and it's very noisy (both vibration and noise). I had it installed by a GM dealer with a performance shop, so I believe it was installed correctly. I love the shifter, but I'm worried that something isn't quite right. I brought it back to the installer about a year ago, and they said that the noise kit was installed, but it's still very loud. Are new bushings needed to prevent a failure in the future?

The bushings that NH-SS made for a bunch of us work really well, there is no more slop in the shifter when it's in gear and feels a lot better. I don't have a noise issue or I can't hear it over my exhaust which is loud. Bushings are outstanding though.

Hurst also offers a race bushing that in my opinion is better then the NH-SS bushing. I had one of the prototypes and really liked it.
