someone please help me
I have a 2002 v6 5-speed it is my love lol..but about 5 days ago the ses light came on and i took and had it put on diag computer and they pulled up 3-4 codes and the woman at advanced said it was probably the catalytic converter but then said if it clogged it would just kill the car i'm pretty sure the 1st code was po430 but i'm gonna take back up today and see if someone more knowledgeable will help me...it had not acted funny it was driving fine then yesterday i was accelerating through the gears it went fine through 1-3 then in 4th about 2500rpm it just felt like it collapsed for a split second like it lost all power then picked back up n was fine til 5th gear about 58mph and it did it again just for a second..i really need to know what someone with experience with camaros thinks...ive been told everything from the fuel pump/filter to converter to mass air flow sensors??please help if i had the money i wouldnt mind doing the process of elimination but my financial status is a lil less than usual! please help and thank you!

OBD II code 0430 could be a lot of things. The code indicates that the bank 2 downstream (After CAT) O2 sensor is reading that the CAT is not working properly (inefficent). The drivability issues may indicate an actual clogged converter, but I would replace the O2, clear the light and take it for a drive. If the Camaro is still having problems then you may have an exhuast leak or a clogged CAT. If I remeber correctly bank 2 is passenger side.
Hope this helps. |

Cats do fall apart and get clogged. and that would explain loosing Power.
