Agreed on the color. Also agree on I could only picture myself driving an american car. Enjoy your car man.

most people who have the money for cars like gallardo's (the ones that catch on fire) are people who have no idea on how to drive a car with that kind of power. Powerful engine + retard = fire

I can't buy a rice rocket because my family has owned nothing but American cars. When I was born, my parents had a corvette, which was changed to some other car (I can't remember what, but some four-door) for a few months before my dad bought is '69 RS/SS Camaro, which was his daily driver. Then, my mom bought an Astro, then upgraded to a newer astro until she got her '02 Suburban back in '04. My dad eventually fixed his camaro up into a show car and bought an S10 he had until February when he upgraded to an F150.
Plus, more recently, my parents haven't had anything except V8s. I can't stand how my Camaro starts up and there's no noise. I'm almost considering throwing a dual exhaust muffler just to get something from it...

But back to the topic at hand, Bumblebee's color was a good yellow, and I'd probably go for that over Rally Yellow, but I just love that sports car feel to the RY. I've always liked the color though. I wanted that color Nova, my neighbor has an '05 Mustang in a bright yellow, and now I want a 69' SS in that kind of yellow. It's always been a personal favorite, and I doubt that's going to change.

Good point.

Wait, I think I got that equation wrong...... I was thinking Powerful Engine + Extreme Superstition + Horrible License Plate Luck + Retard = Fire.......

i am sixteen have been working since i was 12 and have been saving for the camaro since 8th grade. but i hate when people stereo type teenagers i cant speak for you but i have driven many high hp cars and can say if you just dont go crazy your first time and drive it for a while and ease in too it you will be fine, i am planing on buying a 2010 camaro ss and paying for it myself my dad is taking out the loan but i am going to make the payments. so stop being D-bags to this guy and just leave him alone he doesnt want to hear people tell him he cant handle a ss, just because you dont know how to drive doesnt mean we dont. (i take my racing to the track drag racing and semi stock car racing)

It's pretty cool that you're thinking about how your dad feels, rather than "omg new Camaro!"

Get some sleep, and see how things look in the morning. If you get up and the finance part of the deal hasn't worked itself out yet, have an honest discussion with your dad. He'll appreciate the openness.

Either way, it's still a good learning experience for your probable (unless you change your mind) field of study, eh? What better way to start on the business/finance path than by going through the auto finance process!

But, definitely get some sleep, because if you DO get the car..you're not going to be sleeping

on topic: probably best to talk with your dad, that alone may relax him a bunch. Telling your dealer to sell to someone else may make him feel even worse. Good luck, i hope you get your camaro

off topic: i don't get why people of more advanced years don't think younger drivers can handle high power vehicles. when i was 18/19, i got lectures from everyone and their mother that i didn't need such a high performance motorcycle to start on. 2 years later and im perfectly fine.

besides, why do you recommend he get a v6, they can go nearly as fast, so what is the difference. actually, you can go fast enough in any car on the road to cause a serious wreck.

Wow, I think what we are saying is experience (our own) being that age and have that car, look out asking for trouble, I know I bearly survived 16-20 y/o I did alot of really stupid stuff looking back on it. I hope you get the car, just always remember to ask yourself "whats the worst that could happen" before doing something to try and be cool in front of friends. I am almost 40 and I bearly can control myself when I start driving my SS. All this crap is not worth your Dad's health, let the car go, there will be plenty of Camaro's in the future.

i agree that not all kids are bad drivers.. I'm 18 and i've never been close to being in or causing a wreck.. the only problem i've had is a cop with nothing else to do giving me a ticket for doing 3 mph over the speed limit in my own neighborhood 100 yards from my house.. I'm getting a black 2SS/RS manual and i catch stuff all the time about be careful with the power but my dad has the cadillac cts v that pushes over 550+ hp and i don't think i've even been close to being out of control with the power, but i was also taught the same thing as some of the other people on here.. don't speed, showing off only gets your hurt, and don't let others influence your decisions.. well all that and a rule that if i got any kind of ticket i wouldn't have my keys again for a long time lol
