New Camaro 2LT Questions

I just got a 2013 camaro 2lt w/ rs package. I didn't get the MyLink with the navigation builtin, I ended up getting the one with MyLink with nav through onstar. So my question is, can I upgrade my MyLink to the one with the navigation built in?

And is there anyway to play a movie through the MyLink screen from my iphone or USB drive?

No, the MyLink is not able to be retrofitted. You're stuck with no Nav! Sorry.

As Kleeeb stated... you cant upgrade the MyLink.. I have the navi and it has issues a lot.. for $900 I think a nav should be damn near flawless

as for the movie I seriously doubt it.. I've heard that in the future they will be upgrading MyLink to do a lot of things with smartphones and other devices but I really doubt our existing MyLink will have any added goods enabled down the road

i would get a separate nav device if you're going to use it regularly.. i used onstar since it was free until it made me take a 30 minute detour..

to be fair the 30 mins was due to traffic on the highways it wanted me to take.. but all i had to do was make 3 turns, but onstar had other plans

Do you have a smartphone? Buy one of those phone holders that you put in your dash and just use your nav from your phone.

CONGRATS on the ride, and Welcome to our happy little corner of the net, and to Camaro5. There is a BIG fridge on the back porch with anything you can think of in it...help yourself...of course only take what you can LEGALLY have. Make yourself at home on one of the big fluffy couches, kick your shoes off, put your feet up on one of the tables, yes we are allowed to do that, mom's, wive's, husbands, girlfirends and boyfriends here don't care....and take it easy.

oh...btw....every once in a while a food fight breaks out...so you may not want to wear nice clothes here.

Welcome!!

You will not see movies in the front seats unless the car is in park and the emergency brake is on. It a federal regulations against it. Even after market navigation are not allowed to show movies for the front seat only the rear Unless in park and emergency brake is set. You can defeat them in a after market but I do not know about Mylink. Their is a person working a retro fit Mylink to work in the 2010 to 2013

Thanks everyone for your comments. I'm looking at the video now to see how the GPS works with the existing mylink, that looks kind of cool and what I want.

Mylink isn't bad for me, the only issue I have with it is the bluetooth. When I'm playing songs off my iPhone through bluetooth and I flick the up button on my steering wheel to skip to the next song 5 times in the row, the bluetooth stops and then looses connection and switches back to xm and the bluetooth light on the screen goes out for a few seconds. Then it reconnects. Kinda drives me nuts
