Lsx engine built
Ive had my fathers '69 camaro laying around for a couple years and ive decided to finally start restoring it. Trying to build it for street/track since thats what it was 20 years ago. Buddy of mine had a 427 lsx block sitting in his garage so i thought it would be bad ass to throw a whipple on it for the car. Forged rotating assembly is obviously a must so i wanted to see what set up you guys are using... And what compression are you running?

Long block or shortblock? You will want to figure out what heads so you order the correct whipple. Ls3 and Ls7 style heads take different blowers because of the different port shapes.
427 LSX with PRC 285CC LS7 heads ECS Ysi Setup Made 914rwhp on ~11psi.

Livernois pistons, Calles ultra rods, calles dragonslayer crank. Waited 8 months for crank, they are hard to get.
Going back I would have done a lunati pro crank, other than that the ultra rods and livernois pistons are top notch. If the block doesn't have a rotating assembly then how is it a 427? Stroke of the crank will determine displacement. My 427 is a 4.125x4" but you could do a 4x4.125, or any other combo that comes out to a 427.

If the whipple is too small of a blower, what should I run? Vortech ysi or procharger f1 series?

First of all, different size whipples. If you have the 2.9L it will max out around ~800 or so i believe. You could upgrade to a bigger one but then fitting it becomes an issue.
Ysi/2200R/F1R are all good for 900-1050 or so. Great blowers. Everyone by now knows I'm going to say go twin turbo. A pair of 61mms will be so much nicer and make more power than a Ysi. No belt issues, just tons of torque and power.

61s will make 1000, spool up quickly, and run good. 66 would be fine too if you want over 1200.
Then again for a 427 you would probably want the 1.06 a/r housings or something big. It all depends on what you want.
