good speculation. possibly true, we don't know. again, the v6 price sounds high, and the GTR comment is way off base, unless he is talking strictly about 1/4 mile runs. even then . . .
sounds like this guy was told that the v6 will be the 300 hp DI 3.6 from the CTS. also, the base v8 sounds (according to this guy) like it will be more than the L76, unless they have managed to cut the weight down to 3600 lbs.

Like I said before, I'm not really giving a lot of attention to this 'revelation'. But for clarification. "LOADED" is misleading. There's only two real options you can opt for on the Cobalt SS: A $250 stero upgrade, and a $750 sunroof (if you consider that part of being 'loaded'...I don't.). So it's loaded just being an SS.

I certainly hope so the v6 is DI'ed. I am buying a V6 and i certainly am very happy about that. Theres nothing better than taking out Ford Mustang GT's by a V6 Camaro. Who agrees with me here?
(by the way, I'm new and I'm glad to be aboard the Camaro5 boards )

None of this sounds all that surprising to me...in fact it seems right on board with what we've been guessing. Maybe the V6 is a little higher than we'd hoped, but not by all that much...most V6 Mustang sticker prices now are around $23k loaded (not that you'll pay sticker if you're smart) and if Camaro comes standard with most of the equipment that qualifies as "loaded" on a Mustang then I don't see the big issue. Having a base price higher than the base price of the Mustang isn't a problem if it also comes with a lot more goodies (ie standard bluetooth, sunroof, pwr seats etc, iPod connectivity, and so on and so forth). This isn't earth shattering or sky-is-falling news, in fact if it's true I'd say its very good news.
Low 4 seconds in 0-60 time with the "tame" V8? Hell yeah, count me in!

See there is a reason why I paid $1000 to get in line to order a camaro. What I would like to is have a SC V8. However, I don't need iPod connectivity, Sunroof, bluetooth, and all those other fancy bells and wistles. All I want is leather seats and a nice Stereo. Now, I can't say that I don't want these things from car, infact I retract my original thought about a sunroof, but all I'm looking for this car is joy. Pure joy. That consists of 500+hp and tunes while I drive. If I wanted Speed and pleasure, with bluetooth, iPod, navigation, coffee grinder, and water purifier, I'll get a BMW for $50K. Not a Camaro for $50K. However, I want American muscle and I just can't see the SC Camaro costing $50K. That's why when I order, I can get the base SC Camaro, just how American Muscle was ment to be, pure joy.

You know, if the V6 did have 300 hp and was $23,000, then that would leave plenty of room for a 260 hp 4 banger to start at 19 or 20. 4 engine choices would be just great, and would sure add to the Camaro's volume, meaning lower cost for us.

I agree with GhoSSt that Camaro, as much as I love it, will never give Godzilla fits around a track; maybe a 1320, but not a road course, or the like. You would be saying that car would out-handle a Z06; right... Maybe it would get within ten seconds around te 'Ring, but I can't imagine it getting closer than that.
Even IF the car came with an LS9 (which ain't gonna' happen) $50K for a Camaro?... Again, I love this car than most anything in my life (this side of my family and dog) but there is no way in H3LL I'd pay that much; I don't think I would even consider it. Okay, I might pay it, but I wouldn't want any of that electronic stuff they put in cars nowadays (i.e. Bluetooth, navigation, iPod-whatever, etc.) so I'd get a stripper-like model with leather, power, and nice stereo. But still...

I don't see any Camaro doing 3.3 to 60 even with slicks and on race gas. I'm sure it will be amazing but it's not going to hold up to the GT-R when the Z06 can't. Hell the ZR1 is going to have a hard enough time with a stock GT-R let alone the V-Spec.

Well, we don't know what the ZR1 will do yet, since the engineers have only stated it will better the stock GT-R; I am with you on the V-Spec though. A person has to be completely blind to think a stock Camaro could keep up around a track.
