High flow cats
Hey now,
Have any of you guys put High flow cats on your ZL1? And left the factory exhaust alone otherwise? Pulled CELs? And ...drum roll... do you think the supercharger needs the backpressure, or not? |

There is Very little if any back pressure in the factory systems today. The supercharger doesn't much care about back pressure, it just shows up on the boost gauge one way or the other. Like when you add Long tube headers the boost will drop about 1 PSI but make just a bit more Power usually 10 RWHP. Or if you cats plug up then you get more boost and less power. The only Real way to make power on these cars is to spin the blower faster. May I suggest my 75 RWHP Package, in tune or no tune. Ted.

I'm running Solo cats for the past 4K miles and have ZERO CEL. Other than a set of cut outs welded inline the exhaust is stock. Do not use JBA, they will set off a CEL.

Order an SCT tuner and I will tune your car and Unleash the beast and eliminate any CELs. Ted.

Yea, I have the JBA High Flow solo cats and they did't come with the O2 "spacers". Not sure why I'm getting a cel now, bad gas maybe? I just ordered some 304 SS spacers so we'll see.

I want to Ted but kind of want to leave the ECU alone for now.

Your really missing out, and the risk is no higher than the stuff you already did.

I bit the bullet, did the 75 RHP mods with Rotofab Big Gup, StainlessWorks Long tube headers and High flow Cats and a Jannetty tune. Turned 12,000 mile to day and the grin is still there. No regrets, that's for sure.
