wear spot cause identified

I realize I am going to be beat up for no pics.
The wear marks just behind the 1st bow above driver and passenger heads appear to be caused by the bottom side of the black trim around the back. If you feel the bottom side of the trim when the top is down you will feel what appears to be text. Probably part # & vendor code maybe lot number also. It is on both driver and passenger side the same distance in as the marks. Likely friction rubs from the unsmooth surface.
Now, what to do to correct it? Small pieces of carton sealing tape or electrical tape. Smoothing with a dremel tool?
Ideas??

Sorry if someone already discovered this.

Hmm - if you are talking about the "V" mark with the dot in the middle then this is not the source of my wear. I was able to stop the wear by adding a stack of tape under the point thing and cutting the tabs

I'm with you Rolltide……i've found that the tabs cause the pinch point during the last 20% of the folding process. so for the last year or so whenever I lower the top, I stop, get out and blouse out the top material away from these tabs then complete the folding of the top. Since I've been doing this I haven't seen any wear marks above the driver or passenger window areas. i'll admit it's a slight bit of annoyance but i think it is a far better solution than gambling with inexperienced in dealers ability to find and correct the problem.

Good luck Moatbdog, if what you've found works for you, keep at it!
