Next gen trucks due around 2018.

Holy cow. That didn't last long. I guess with the new Fords coming, and a new generation RAM coming for 2017/2018 (along with receiving some updates before then) GM can't rest long at all on the new 2014 models which unfortunately seem to have gotten a bit of a luke warm welcoming from the general public.

That said, everyone loves to bash the looks of the Silverado, but I love it. Everytime I see a new 2014 on the road it catches my eye, so I guess I don't get the hate. I think they are damn good trucks, but GM just didn't quite push the envelope far enough with them. Now they have to make sudden changes to keep up.

I feel the same way. I love the way it looks. I guess they wanted that 8 speed tranny in it as soon as it was ready, much like with the Vette which I am looking foward to seeing its performance and fuel economy.

I expected the 8L90 to go into the trucks for 2015, in fact I told dealers when the 2014s first arrived that I was waiting for the 8 speed next year before buying.
