I treat 2nd as the "get up and go" gear shift. If I'm casually driving, I'll get up fast enough to go 1-> 3. I will only usually go into 2nd if I want to do some spirited driving.

I think I do pretty good on mileage. not that I bought it for an economy car. 17mpg in town, 24mpg on hiway. Gotta love 6th gear cruising @90.

You're more than welcome to pay the guzzler tax lol Or, you could buy an eliminator for like $30.

It's not just a Camaro thing.

You can program it out (my personal favorite), or IIRC, a 160°F therm will stop it from working too.

i love how it not only locks you out of shifting into 2nd but it locks you out of 3rd too. AND only sometimes, if you take 1st gear all the way up the rpm it doesnt. makes total sense to shift into 4th gear going 10 mph

Op, bc of the different gears & the 3.91, the 1le is tighter than the regular SS. You will go through the gears faster than a regular SS bc it's geared for the track.

Yup, will probably get caught one day..., and when messing around I might change from second to third a little lower than that, but I'm not really watching the speed when pushing it. But when slowely cruising around, I can't stand the skip shift because it will occasionally get in the way..., so I had to install the skip shift eliminator and problem solved there as well.

Top speed in a vacuum? Where does the 281 mph in 6th come from?

I shift 1 3 5 when commuting normally, then in to 6 if speed limits allow for it without lugging. If i want spirited i bang through all the first 4 !!!
