A busy but weird day. Clients kept showing up at the wrong time or wanting to change their appointment, showing up on the wrong day, etc. But somehow it all managed to be worked out. The commute home was odd too. With all the huge number of tourists, concerts & other events in downtown Nashville, the streets seemed deserted. 2 traffic lights were out & police were directing traffic but not even normal levels of traffic for a non-work day. The only thing I can think is that it was between big concert times so tourists were probably changing clothes & eating. And they must have sent state workers home early to clear out parking lots for tonight's events. Now we await the arrival of storms now moving through south central Kentucky. Have a good evening.

After being told of the major work that will be completed to the pool this week, today has marked the 5th week of downtime, where nothing has progressed on the build. Granted, it has not been successive weeks, but a builder with any eagerness could have completed a pool build in 5 weeks.

On another note, a plumbing company that installed our solar water heater system honored their lifetime labor warranty today and replaced a sensor wire that was not installed properly. Kudos to them for not arguing with us. They took responsibility and handled the situation.

What a frustrating process this has been for you Rick. But it looks like it is going to be well worth it when it is finally all finished.

Good morning everyone. Well storms were not too bad here but were loud enough & timed to arrive just at bedtime and moved through very slowly. So our sleep was very disrupted & I'm sleepy. Several big events are planned again today at the CMA Fest so today could be the day my commute is a mess. Yesterday broken down cars in very bad placed were the problem. Last day to commute in it today so maybe I will manage to get through it without too much bother. Have a good day.

yes, it has been frustrating. I'm sure we'll be calling the construction "manager" again today if no one shows up. So far, it looks like no one will be here today.

Hope your commute is uneventful.

The hood looks great Skipp. Hope you are feeling well & taking good care of yourself.

Today the CMA Fest did take it's toll on my commute both this morning & this evening. This morning traffic was heavy, fans were walking everywhere & some roads were closed then some idiot tried to make a U-turn in the middle of Korean Veteran's Memorial bridge and ran into a Metro Police car which led to a swarm of Metro police cars responding & surrounding the car, shutting down the bridge to only one lane starting at the busy intersection before you get to the bridge. What a mess! This evening traffic was ultra heavy, fans were like a plague of locusts, Once I finally got across the Korean Vet's bridge, all the roads were closed that I knew of to get me over to the road I needed to take to get home. I had to stop & ask a Metro Officer how I could get to Dickerson Road. After that traffic was bumper to bumper until I got almost home but it was moving at a good clip. I am Sooooooooooooooooooo glad I don't have to get in that mess tomorrow.

Have a good evening everyone.

Very cool Skip (the hood, not the commute). At least you don't have to commute very far on Friday Jan.

One more day before vacation! I seriously need it. The past two weeks have taken a toll on my brain as I am now forgetting things and forgetting important follow ups at work. I feel like something is wrong, but rest will probably go a long way towards recovery.

We are having a new stove delivered today. My German mother-in-law decided we needed a new one & bought it for us. Of course we did not argue with her. I guess stoves/ovens are a big deal to you when you grew up in a bakery. Nothing wrong with the old one except it is old. It never gave us any problems. I hope the new one doesn't either. I also hope there isn't a big learning curve to it. This one is convection oven & a flat-top range neither of which I have ever used before.

They are calling for a 30% chance of rain tomorrow. I hope it holds off & does not mess up our Camaro Reunion. HAGD all.

Vacation has finally arrived!

I'll be in Maryland this time tomorrow. Hoping to go to some car cruises I used to frequent when I lived there.

That is odd Midlife convert. Here I am 6 years from retirement & this is the first stove I have ever bought. The one we have came with the house. We only rented before this house.

Have Fun & safe travels Rick!

All my clients showed up today in Springfield which is good but I only managed to get 4 scheduled which is not bad but not good either. The old stove is gone & the new one (along with a new vent hood) is in. Ruby got a quick detailing for tomorrow's Camaro Reunion. I'm turning in early so I can get up early to get to the reunion. Here are a couple of before & after pics. Have a good weekend everyone.
