I've spent a good chunk of my career working for car manufacturers and this is something they all do. Not saying it's right but GM just got caught and if you think otherwise you are just not looking hard enough. I've sat in those meetings and I can tell you that in Canada the Dealer and manufacturer field staff were often the last to know when these recall items come up so don't blame your dealer.

Don't think anyone blames the dealers. Blame GM corporate. The ones who put schedules and pennies ahead of lives.

OK! What are you doing about it? Obviously you're not that concern if you're still driving a GM product!

clearly you dont have any knowledge other than what you hear about cars, well guess what, honda had the same recall years ago, just did one on a acura cl that the people have not had time to do in the 10 years that is was out. and they were still alive. so sit behind your desk and point fingers. my camaro did not come with a master tech degree like some of the guys on here's did
why dont you take a ignition switch apart one day, then see how it magically cuts itself off

Dealers, especially their salesman lie for a living. I guarantee you that GMs response to a recall was not 'high priced cars get taken care of, **** the poor people'. The person you talked to at the dealer was blowing smoke up your ass and should be fired.

Wrong. But by the way, if you don't own a Camaro, why are you trolling this forum? Barra and the whole team should be in jail.

The 2014 shut off was on a loaner given to me by GM while my Solstice is in for recall...been 6 weeks so far, and I am told another 8 probable. Barely touched the key while adjusting the a/c vent, and dead car, while driving. Turned it back on, and out of curiosity, touched it with my finger. Flipped to ACC with virtually no pressure. Same as the recalled cars. Turned the 2014 back in and got a 2013. Different key set up, and no problems. I called GM as a courtesy, and they were completely uninterested. What does that say about the New Culture at GM?
Change does not happen overnight. GM is a large culture to convert. I have faith the changes being put in place now will filter down to all departments in due time.

That is why jail time is in order. Good 2x4 on the side of the head for the rest of them.
