While I would like the kids to help me with the car I doubt that it would happen. My 6 year old step son isnt really into cars, my 4 year old daughter my do some right now but in a year or 2 that can change, and my youngest just turned 1 so he would be more in the way at this point.
I never had a son to work with but my daughter grew up with motorcycles, jet skis and cars. She is a car nut, has a Vibe GT. Would be great project to hand down to son at 16 yrs old. He will be a car nut if he participates.

Sounds like you need to go for it.

I understand the fun in a project like this. Lets look at process involved here, money, time, and kids. You have 3 young kids that can't help with this project, the wife hasn't said anything yet but will the project be ok when school, sports and all other activities start? Will you be able to finish this project or does it become another car just sitting, and will you be able to keep the kids interested in this project. I have participated in the built and bought project, and I can tell you that there will be many more memories of helping dad wash, and ride in the Camaro. I say go buy one start the memories today and enjoy, you never know what tomorrow brings.

Do it, it's a 68 Camaro.
