Geico?

Looking for insurance advice on my 2lt/rs due in the end of the month. I have been shopping around and Geico has given me the best quote by far. I am hesitant though because I find so many bad reviews about them online. Anyone have any input on their experiences?

I've used GEICO for years and NEVER had any problems with them. They offer great rates along with discounts.

In the past, I have been "screwed over" by state farm and american family insurance. I have yet to have a bad experience with GEICO.

Their on-line tools area much better than most companies and I have never been on wait for more than one minute when I did have to call in.

I hope this helps.

I also heard they are Horrible, They might be cheap now. I know some Body Shops and Geico normally will add After market parts to the car. Not sure with the Camaro, because is new. Overall haven't heard anything good, I have Statefarm and they are pretty good.

It's really preference and what you're looking for. Gather more info and you'll find the right answer.

I have had Geico for years, since 1986 or so. When my daughter turned 16 I tried shopping around but no one could touch their rates. I have had multiple "little" claims and never had a problem with their service, they never raised their rates because of my claims. I had several marks/scratches on my car from hurricane Ike last September, flying shingles made them all over the car. I have had glass claims, damage caused due to other drivers etc, but would highly recommend them. Unless someone gives you specific experiences that were bad, I would not consider comments that just say "they heard" of problems. I'm not saying that some people may not have had some bad experiences, but then again I think everyone has a bad experience with some company about something where someone else has only good experience. They are a huge company, so they must be doing something right... IMO they have been great for me... Good Luck!!!

I had Liberty Mutual for my Accord/Odyssey, but switched to Geico because they were cheaper and quoted me less for the Camaro. Then a few days later they adjusted my premium because my wife had a 'rolling stop' ticket in 2006. Anyway, the adjusted quote was double what I pay at Liberty Mutual, so I switched back.

They had our driver #s so they should have told us from the beginning what the rate would be, it was a bait/switch IMO.

The advantage to Geico was that they offer Mechanical Breakdown Insurance (MBI) for $36 per 1/2 year.

Happy w/Geico

I've been with Geico now for about 8 years - we were dropped by Allstate after 15 years with them and filed 1 claim for an accident that was not our fault but the other driver was uninsured.

I've checked prices periodically over the years and Geico is still cheapest - we have 5 cars and 4 drivers on the policy, including the 2000 Z28 - 2 teenage male drivers.

We've had claims for windshield replacement with no problems whatsoever, after 2004 hurricanes Geico did pay for a complete paint job on the Z28 due to cosmetic damage from the storm - claim handled quickly and easily.

I will be covering my 2SS/RS with Geico - quote I received is very fair - I will not be covering either of my boys on the policy, they are now both out of school and my rates are sooooo much better with just me and my husband

Like any company, I'm sure people have their good and their bad experiences. Geico has worked for me. Allstate had been pretty good right up until I needed to file 1 claim and then bam - dropped like a hot potato!

Heard and saw, My parents own a Body Shop! I see what happens when they come to the Shop and do the Estimates Shop around, we have the advantage to choose what we want and there are many to choose from.

My wife had Geico before I added her to my Safeco policy. She was paying $2000 a year for insurance on a Hyundai Elantra with a reasonably clean driving record (last ticket was 4 years ago). Now it costs us $750 every six months total for her Elantra and my 2SS.

I use to be an agent for Geico and I can tell you from the inside, that it is an excellant company. I don't work for Geico anymore and I still have my insurance through them, thats gotta tell you something as well. No, really, I highly recommend them!!!!

Everyone has good things to say about every insurance company and everyone has something bad to say about every insurance company. If you were given the cheapest rate with them I would go with them. I think there is a law stating that you can change insurance companies even if you are still in a policy. Geico was cheaper than every insurance company that I checked and I checked with about 10-15 different ones. I even lowered my deductibles and increased my coverage from what I had on my Silverado and they were still $60/month cheaper than everyone else.

I've been with Geico for years and had one not at fault wreck, repaired the car with no problems, one vandalism key scratch incidient, repainted 3/4 of the car no problems. My mother-in law is a Nationwide agent and I still choose to stay with Geico.

Ooooh... Nationwide treated me horribly. They actually forced my dad to remove me from his umbrella policy when I was 19, then they charged me basically $3500 a year for insurance.
