He's bogging the engine by rolling off the clutch slowly. He needs to get his revs up and get off the clutch quicker.

Thanks so much guys! I figured a lot has to do with my lack of skills in the manual department. I will try the higher rev and letting the clutch out fast. I'll also try the launch control since i've never done it.

I think I'll go with the 3.91's anyhow but maybe i'll wait until I'm a bit more comfortable with the car the way it is.

I just want to acknowledge how awesome it is to be a part of a forum where there is such a wealth of knowledge and support. For the most part, people don't pound on others for not knowing as much about some things which is great. Might be due to the older average age of owners of these cars.

Anyhow, I'm on hiatus until April with the car when it finally warms up here in Canada

Might recommend taking a performance driving class and gain some skills to go with the car. If you can't make those tires spin in that car all day long with it bone stock you need someone to show you how. Ive never had an issue with my stock car breaking the tires when I wanted them too.

I would also run the premium gas 93 or higher at all times.(This applies to any V8 Camaro owners out there) After your first tank of premium go into your fuse box and pull the number 5 and the number 20 fuse, wait about 30 minutes, put them back in and feel the difference. This resets the timing table and your car will react better because it reads the higher octane. If you put lower octane in your car, it reads that and resets itself to protect against detonation. If you have had your computer recalibrated then you should be running only premium gas anyway because the car can't protect itself because the parameters have been permanently altered. Hope this helps.

Will it read from the higher octane table with 91? That is all I've used and did do the fuse pull a while back. 93 is hard to come by but I could find it if I had to.

Curb weight is 4116 on ss vert and 3849 on. SS coupe . My daughter took my vert out with a friend and while at a stop sign she laid down a small burnout of 30 feet or so and 2 cars behind her was a cop,he did write her a ticket and before he walked away he told her she sure know's how to lay down a good set of stripes.nannies off and practice till it's second nature to you.that was with my old m6 now I try to keep the keys from her on this one since she can't afford anymore tickets ha! Ha!
