True... I can't say that the Jets getting Fitzpatrick worries me at all as a Dolphins fan.

He's better than Geno...and while he isn't a top end QB, the guy can still play well. He's played for two teams in the AFC South and he is now on his 2nd team in the AFC East.

If he had some decent WRs and a good running game, he'd probably be a decent starter for awhile now...

He's a solid back up caliber QB.

Yes he's had some games where it was all clicking but they are few and far between.

I think of him kind of like our Moore. Almost too good to be a backup but not quite good enough to be a good starter.

I saw him play us plenty as a Bill and like I said it's not terrifying that he's now a Jet.

Eh... see I disagree with that view point. Look at his choice of receivers and offensive talent in Buffalo, in Tennessee, and even in Houston. He had 1 quality WR in his entire time at any of those locations.. but the majority of those teams had so many other issues that he was never going to get a chance to win with any level of consistency.

I'm not saying the guy is a top 10 QB, or even a long term starter. However, I think he's easily comparable to a guy like Alex Smith..

Possibly, I've never been too deep in my knowledge of his circumstances. Mostly just watching him play against my team and the typical scuttlebutt that you hear and see about him.

He has Stevie Johnson in Buffalo in his best years, Kenny Britt in Tennessee and Andre Johnson in Houston. That doesn't count Chris Johnson in TN who was good out of the backfield

Stevie who? Exactly.....

Kenny Britt? Seriously?

Andre Johnson was the only top 15-20 WR he ever played with in his career. The other two you mentioned had the occasional good game but were never "marquee" players. And while Johnson had a couple of good years, he hasnt been anything exceptional since he ran for 2000 yards.

I'm not saying the guy played on really bad teams (Raiders, Jags, etc) but the teams he has played for, have predominantly needed him to play perfect to have a chance to win. Unfortunately, that just wasn't something that could happen. And those teams he has played for, have pretty much continued to be nothing since he left...so it wasnt just him...

Stevie Johnson had 3 Straight 1,000 Yard Seasons in Buffalo. Johnson was named the 2010 Vizio Top Value Performer for being the NFL player who outplayed his salary by the widest margin.

To much money is a joke in the NFL and so is they salary cap BS teams that want players sign them. Seattle was going to be against it after Wilson's new contract oh nope they found a way to also give lynch a raise and trade and fit Jimmy Grahams contract in and they paid there elite corner also because they wanted to and were not looking for excuses.
Will see what everyone's saying after first 4-6 games when the pats are in the bottom 5 in pass defense and letting mediocre quarter backs look like probowlers. We are going back to having that sinking felling every time a quarterback throws a deep ball that there are only 3 options catch penalty or dropped pass we know it wont be tight coverage with a pass defended.
Glad Brady took a team friendly deal again so that Bob and Johnathan Kraft can split 100 million dollars in Salary between them. If he didn't I just don't know how the Kraft's would make ends meet if they paid any players top dollar at their position.
I would have loved him to stay, but you have to remember...after next year, Collins , Hightower & Jones are gonna need to get paid , as well as some O line, that contract would have killed that.
He tasted what it's like in New England and didn't care, could have got a good deal from the Pats....but chose to go for broke, don't need that, I would have liked them to have at least kept Browner, maybe he still signs...but it will be more than his option would have been.
I know it was a small taste, but Butler was all over the ball in that 2nd half of the SB, maybe...just maybe, he steps up ?
Remember, the Pats were in 3 straight AFCC games & 1 SB before Revis& Browner, and a Welker catch away from a win

And consistently embarrased Revis, I thought he was an upcoming star

They look to be formidable on paper. Hopefully for them it works out to be something.
