They're loading up to be super bowl bound this coming season, and maybe the next. All these 30+ year old guys definitely aren't the long term solution.. They must be thinking like Denver lol

He really is a good dude. I remember reading that when he left Indy, he made personal phone calls to a few reporters that had covered the colts for years and personally thanked them for their kind words over the years. Never in my life have I ever hard of a athlete doing that. You can't NOT love the guy

I think the colts are loading up before they pay Luck. See if they can win on Lucks rookie contract.

Pretty much every signing they made has the money front-loaded, so really only the first year of each contract is guaranteed. After that, the Colts can cut them and run without a hangup...

And truthfully, the guys they signed were about the best on the market for the most part. There were a few that are better, but they demanded much more money. The Colts still have to produce another Safety between now and the beginning of the season as that is the last official hole on the roster.

As a big Peyton fan, I'd love to see him win one last one myself...would really shut up a lot of haters....and set him at the top of pretty much most record books. I do expect him to play 2 more years....as that will give him the passing yardage record too...

They got 2 seasons to do it....let's hope they can!

My understanding is that his rookie contract is up this year. They pretty much have to have a deal in place (or tag him) by the end of 2015 season.

Luck's rookie contract is up this year, as is Russell Wilson's.

Luck and the Colts will have a deal in place this year, and it wouldn't surprise me if it comes shortly after Wilson signs his deal.

Tannenbaum was quoted as saying that the Dolphins have a 3 yr plan and that they will be fine salary cap wise even considering Suh and Tannehill contracts.

What I wonder is how are you going to have a D lineman making more than your "Star QB"? Does this mean that Tannehill is due more than $114M over 6 years with $60M guaranteed?

To that I say... damn.

All 1st round rookie contracts are 4 yrs, with an option to pick up a 5th year...

So this means 2 years for next to nothing, and they could still franchise him in year 6...

That wouldnt surprise me at all, but expect Luck to get paid quite a bit more than Wilson..

I think luck will be the highest paid player in football when they do that deal.

The colts, same as the Dolphins, have until the beginning of May (I think the 3rd) of this year, to pick up the 5th year option. If they don't, then they lose the 5th year option. With that said, I think both teams will use the 5th year option and then get a long term deal by next offseason.

While I agree, the Colts still need to do a little work on the defensive side of the ball, they lost this year's AFC Championship game on the offensive side of the ball.

Their offense outside of one drive never showed up. They left their defense out on the field too many times without sustaining any significant drives. I mean, Andrew Luck, he of the almost 4800 yards passing, had less than 40 yards passing at half time.

Reggie Wayne was beat up, slow, and a shell of himself even from the beginning of the year. Hilton was completely removed from the passing game. No running game, etc...

Adding Gore, adding Johnson, fixing the o-line all HELP the Colts defense. Also, the Colts had practically no quality pass rush this past season. They added Cole, Mathis will be back healthy, and the rest of the roster comes back healthy and bigger.

I won't annoint them the frontrunners in the AFC, but with the way they're setup right now...they are a team that should be vying for a 1 or 2 seed at season's end...
