I don't know.. price-wise, they are a great bargain. But they sound about as unpredictable as the GYs about breaking loose.

Good looking tire though.

ive had these on for about 1000 miles now. they have gotten better as they broke in but i would say these are an "ok" tire at best. i dont get all the rave reviews these are getting. they are horrible for a performance car of this caliber.

Kind of what I was reading between the lines too. I mean, spending $50K+ on the car and then getting tires on the cheap just because they're wider but not any stickier other than some seat of the pants feel?

Granted, the ZL1 is a torque monster but man, these stories sound scary to me.

When I replace the GYs, it will be for a proven better, grippier tire. So far, I'm not seeing that with these MTs.

Initially about a street tire and not the DRs.

They have really been working well for me on the street. I normally run about 28 lbs. in each tire, when they hit 31 on my tire gauge in the car, I know they are warmed up. I usually get on it really good and they will spin, but not bad the 1st time I get in it. After that, they don't spin at all. Now saying that, this is not from a Dig (stop). On asphalt from a Dig, they will still break lose, but I don't normally race people on the street or from a light, so for me these tires have been great. Last night I took them to the 1/4 mile track to see how they would do. I only got to make 3 passes because people kept blowing transmissions and took it down 2000' of track and it shut us down for 3 hours. Anyways, the track conditions weren't great and it was about 58 degrees with 90% humidity. I dropped the tire pressure to 21 in both rear tires. My 1st 2 passes were horrible, tires were spinning bad, car was chopping power. My last past. I did a real good burn out and got the tires nice and hot. I managed to get them to bite I still got just a smidge of spin. I ended up running an 11.4 @ 126MPH. I included a video from inside the car. I will switch back to my Nitto NT05R's next time. I will go back to the track with these later this year when the weather is a little warmer to see how they do then. https://www.facebook.com/video.php?v...40027736338783

I had a full set of the MT Street Comps installed a few weeks ago and finally put some miles on them. They're much quieter and smoother than the GY's. As for handling.. not bad so far. It was 37 F here so I was still somewhat cautious to really push the car in the turns. However I did manage to pull 1.09g on one of my favorite turns compared to 1.13g with the GY's in 70 + temps. I felt no sliding, but I did feel slight tread squirm which will go away as they start to wear. So far, a good tire for the price, but I will see as time goes on.

Edit: Here are two pics of them installed. They have a very square shoulder which I like. 275/35/20 F, 305/35/20 R set at 32 psi all around.

I haven't read anything here yet that would stop me from using my current set-up. Continentals during the colder months and the Michelins when things warm up..... I'm Jus Saying.............

^^^ No doubt the PSS's are great tires and they better be at that price. The MT's are a good tire at a great price and simply present a different option.

I ran mine last Saturday at the SCCA Starting Line autocross school in Bowling Green. They did great in the wet. I am putting 643 HP to the wheel. With a controlled throttle and proper driving technique, these did very well in the wet. I haven't had much chance to do anything in the dry other than the Michelin Winter Track-X at the Corvette track. They did well there despite the cold temps. They definitely get stickier once they get some temperature in them. I don't think they will ever perform as well as the Michelin PSS or Bridgestone RE-11s or other high price tires but for the price I am happy with them.

I finally got a decent picture of the fronts. I have American Racing BLVD 20x10 +38offset wheels front and rear. I am running the 275/40R20 front and 305/35R20 rear. I like they way these handle and perform. I know some higher prices tires, Michelin SS or Bridgeston RE-11s, would be better but the price makes these a great option in my opinion. My car is lowered 0.5 inch running Pedder's Xa coilovers, sway barz, etc.

Just installed mickey thompson street comp tires in 305/35/20 on the rear and love them. They grip, look great and have higher wear than the oem tires at a better price. win win all the way. Yes they grip I launched them on slick roads and they gripped better tan the oem in the rain. Dry oh my!!! Love these tires! drove them in sub 40 degree weather no issues.

Is there a reason you guys are going with the street comps over the ET streets?

ET Streets are drag radials and wear very quickly. I have an extra pair of wheels with the ET Streets mounted that I put on for track days and occasional street duty.
