Adams H20 Guard & Gloss

I just got this new product today.
Adams H20 Guard & Gloss. It's a water activated sealant that also has gloss enhancement.

It added a total of 15 minutes to my normal drying process, though I saved a few minutes due to no pooling rinse done.

I used maybe 1/15 of the 16oz bottle, it spreads very easily with a wet microfiber, requires no buffing, just dry off with dry microfiber.

After finishing I went around the car and found a few "spots" where some product was not removed, 1 wipe with the wet towel, 1 wipe with the dry, was all it took. I really like the "no buffing" aspect of this product.

It doesn't stain trim, actually darkens it just a little , adds a nice gloss as well on the clearcoat. By far the easiest "LSP" application I have ever done.

Durability is stated as around 2 months.

If you want to put some protection on your paint in a short amount of time, and add gloss as well, you will like this product.

Looks good, when was the last time you detailed it prior to putting HGG on?

Thanks, I'm assuming by "detailed" you mean polishing?

6 weeks ago did 1 step with Griot's Garage 6", with 4" Lake Country Hydrotech Tangerine pads, Carpro Reflect finishing polish.

I don't understand this product to be honest. It's like a longer-to-apply Adam's version of Carpro Hydro2 that doesn't last as long.

I didn't know that Corey sold a product like this. My koolaid just got a little sour.

I'm sure the Carpro product is excellent, as Corey strives to offer "the best" of everything they have.
I feel Adams also adopts this type of mindset with their products as well.

For 13 dollars and change (what I paid for the Adams), I am happy with the results. It rained last night, of course. The water bead was excellent, and the shine is still intact.

Update.....Ok I had to find a video on the Car Pro Hydro, Roshan. It appears you need a strong water pressure to activate it. It also is priced around $48 (before discounts) for a 500ml bottle, using 40ml per application (this is the amount the website suggests for an "average sized" 4 door car).

The Adams does not require strong water pressure and can be applied to a dry car as well. Price is $20 (before discounts) for a 16oz bottle, based on the amount I used, (I did what Dylan suggests, 3 sprays per panel) I should get around 12-15 applications.

Hydro2 does require a strong water pressure, but that's not hindering anything. The pressure from a hose is sufficient to apply it. (Hydro2 was the first sealant I ever tried)

Something I find interesting about this video is they don't give and water beading examples.

I would venture to say the Hydro2 is going to be more durable, it would be interesting to see a side by side test.

I used Adams Guard and Gloss yesterday for the first time. Wash first. Then dry. I applied while in the sun. Used wet towel and sprayed on towel and then wipe on and wiped off with different towel. It turned out great! Sorry no pics. Next time.

It rained last night and my car had a tight bead on it this morning, I did see some pics on Adams forum of beading effect as well, of course a video would be better. Here is a pic of H20 G&G after rain.

The Hydro2 is stated at least 3 months vs. the 2 months from the Adams for durability.

I would also like to see them side by side in a video with water bead. Due to the price of it I don't think it's in sample size that you get free when placing a $50 order or more at Carpro, but I'll ask Corey next time I place an order, maybe he will cut a deal for the 10 dollar sample size and I could do this. Course I don't know how well my dell computer would video this comparison, but I'd give it a shot.

Pricewise notwithstanding though, it just seems like it is a similar product that takes more time to use than the HydrO2. I'm curious to learn more about the Adam's product though in regards to comparison between it and HydrO2.

I think it looks like a longer process to use the CarPro stuff. You apply it, rinse well, then dry. With the Adams, you apply and dry, skipping the rinse step.

I don't have either of these products, but the similar one I do have doesn't impress me much. Then again, I find it relaxing to wax the car.

I enjoy waxing my car as well, though with pollen season in force here in NC, as well as all the rain, I wanted something I could do quickly. I don't have a garage and have to work outside.

It had rained the 2 days prior to applying HGG, so with a lighter "pollen count" due to everything still being damp outside, after my 2 bucket wash I used the HGG, easy to apply, comes off without buffing, adds protection and a nice shine.

This is a product I will use when I have limited time to apply protection, and per Dylan you can wax over it, and even put it on top of existing wax, the only drawback doing the latter is slightly less durability.

Here's a FAQ for HGG written by Dylan.

FAQ's

Q: How does this compare to Detail Spray for drying?
A: Detail Spray does not offer tons of protection, and its simply spray and wipe while drying. HGG requires you to spread it over the area then buff off the excess, but it does provide months of protection.

Q: Is this a replacement for Liquid Paint Sealant?
A: No. This can be used as a booster for Liquid Paint Sealant or you can use it as your only protection.

Q: Do you have to use the wet towel?
A: Yes. The water activated nature of the product requires water for application, without it the product will not work properly so apply to a wet vehicle or use a damp towel.

Q: How long does it last?
A: Its impossible to give a one size fits all answer for every individual since circumstances will cause products to wear differently, but about 2 months would be average longevity per application.

Q: Can I use this every wash?
A: You can if you prefer, though it may not need to be applied that often. Use your best judgement.

Q: Can this be used on a vinyl wrap?
A: Yes. Gloss wraps can be treated with HGG. Matte wraps can be as well, but the application can be a little more difficult to get right.

Q: Can I use this over my existing wax?
A: Yes. HGG will layer over wax, but you may see slightly less longevity.

Q: Can I top HGG with a wax afterwards?
A: Absolutely. It behaves like a traditional sealant once its applied
