I'm waiting on a killer deal at my local dealer they have 4 2015 1LE camaros in stock it's only a matter of time... I sold my Camaro back in 2012 and when the 1LE was announced I instantly knew it's what I wanted. long tubes intake and Cam are already ordered just waiting on the Deal! 2016 unveiling did not impress me much besides the interior.

I would like to find a 1SS for around 34K...maybe 35k.

If I don't find the right car I will either wait until a performance minded version of the new Camaro or the GT350.

The Corvette owners have been experiencing LT1 failures due to metal shards/bits that have appeared in some engines. Add to that excess oil consumption to the point of requiring some of them to install "catch cans" to prevent the excess oil from the PVC getting into the air intake. It makes me consider that maybe the LS3 in my 1LE gives me the better car today. But I'll see if GM manages to fix the LT1 issues and revisit a decision to trade up if/when a more performance oriented version of the new Camaro comes out. For now I can't see a reason to part with the excellent car my 1LE is today.
I hear what you are saying...but do you really think Chevy would release a new Camaro with the LT1 and not have it dialed in? I don't think that they are that dumb...but you never know.

You always hear about bad stuff but not much about how good they run and a lot of plp are not part of any forums. That beeing said, LS3 oil pump/ timing chain guide are a known problem. It sucks to blow a healthy engine because of an oil pump failure. Plus plp tracking their car without dry sump systems can blow their engine too.

Nothing is perfect, Im pretty sure GM knows a thing or 2 about V8 engines. This LT1 is nice, but its new too.

I don't have a current 1LE but I've been lurking and honestly I am stuck wanting a current 1LE or buying in 2017 for the 6 gen. I'm stuck in a Charger RT for the 4 door room with a newborn on the way but I am convinced that a 1LE would be fine as a DD and hold the newborn just fine. My lady thinks it is going to be a hassle trying to take the baby in and out..... I honestly am hoping dealers have some left over stock of 1LE's and want to move them so I can get a awesome deal but that's me hoping and praying daily haha.

I have a 20 month old, and I got the Camaro when she was 4 months old. It was the secondary vehicle, but still would put car seat in it sometimes. Once I was able to make the car seat forward facing it's 100x easier to get her in and out too.

She loves going vroom vroom in daddy's 1LE!

Regarding getting the child in and out, couple variables to consider. If the passenger seat is a significant distance back, getting in and out of the rear area requires moving the seat back up, of course.

If it's an electric seat, be prepared to be patient. So, probably ought to be on the look out for a manual seat equipped car, as that would lessen the hassle factor, considerably.

Given that my dog is in and out of the back seat almost daily, one of my planned alterations for my SS is ditching the electric seat(s), for exactly this reason, once I get through a couple higher priority mods.

My most frequent human passenger, one of my housemates, is ridiculously tall, 6'7", so the passenger seat has rapidly become a bit of a hassle.

So, just a heads up about one of the potential issues that don't begin to make any real difference in my world, but might in your domestic tranquility. 'cause I'd hate for you to miss out on the joy of a 1LE.

Thanks for that information! I didn't even think about manual seating vs electric. I definitely see having a manual seat on the passenger side being a huge plus just for my situation. Now I am just trying to convince my lady. She just wants me to buy the one I really want and own the damn thing haha. She doesn't understand the hard spot between 1LE vs 6 Gen as either car would be great. I'll be searching the internet for either left over stock or slightly used 1LE owners have turned in for trade.

jdrop01 if you are going to put a car seat in the 1LE you will need track ready cars seats to pass tech inspection. Start with this:

Notice the roll bar! Then graduate to this:

I would go with Red Hot to match:

1SS, NPP, Recaros, and BA audio. Skip everything else, it's all just fluff. Rare combo to find.

Thumbs up

Yes I'm waiting for the new 6th generation 1LE SS Camaro, I guess it should come out as a '17 during the 50th anniversary. I only wish that it comes out also in automatic transmission, so my wife could also enjoy it and with nice Sport seats and maybe that it keeps the MRSC suspension like the Stingray Z51 option. The present 1LE is a great car but could be better.
Just hope that by then GM already had fixed all the A8 bugs on this new great promissing performance transmission.

I freaking hope so. My current exhaust setup with cam sounds the same and gets plenty compliments for it's muscle car exotic sound. With the release of this car I should no longer stand out for having sport bike race car exhaust sounds on public road.
