Anyone detail outside under a Canopy?

what size canopy do you have? Make? been looking at EZ up possibly a 12 x 12. is that big enough? don't have room in the garage to manuever around.

You could probably move it closer to one side as needed to keep the sun out (unless directly overhead)

I think it would work.

Not enough room in my parking lot to do this, I have to drive into my work and use the bays when they are empty.

I have read on some other boards about using a tarp connected with a couple bungy's to provide further shading. I took the tape measure out and measured the area that I would like to set it up in and the 12 X 12 would allow me just under three feet clearance to work in and that I believe would work pretty well. this is something that I would use 2-3 times a year for detailing and also would be nice to have for cook outs. always fighting the sun late in the mornings on week ends when I want to buff out the clear coat and decided I needed to get one of these canopies that is an EZ up style. think I know what I want now got to wait for a good deal

12x12 will work but if it's a windy day, be sure to weigh it down if your can otherwise it's going right into your paint. Yea, found out the hard way.

Ouch! I feel your pain!!!!
Great heads up for the OP though.

I have to do my polishing on my car outside, I must admit when I do someone else's (I will only do it if they have a garage) I get a little jealous.

I have a huge canopy though. Mostly cloudy with no chance of rain!

I use a 10X10 that I picked up at Dicks Sporting Goods cheap.

Here's a tip that only cost $4 and can save your paint from scratches !
Go to the Dollar Store and pick up 4 foam pool noodles

With a razor blade, make a slit along the whole length noodle and slide it on each leg of the canopy, easy on easy off
