I've done a few mods to my car, plenty of cosmetics but I want to know what my next steps should be in everyone's opinion.
Currently I have (Performance only)
What I plan on doing, unsure which order and unsure about the results or if there are better options. (Opinions would be appreciated)
And after allllll of that
Last thing would be to tune it with everything already done. I also want to mention I've read about pulling fuses for different results or reasons. Is there anything I should pull? Traction control would be nice and automatic headlights too, I just honestly know nothing of the fuses. Also seen something about running higher octane to pull certain fuses. I currently use nothing other than 93. Also I live in Tampa, Florida so it never gets very cold here. Figured I'd ask this here too instead of a new thread, in 1st & 2nd gear right before hitting about 5k rpm I feel a slight studder. Like it pulls hard but eases up intermittently. Very subtle but I notice it and it annoys me. Anyone else experience this or know of a fix? Last edited by Aranoch; 12-15-2015 at 03:52 PM. |

I'd get a catch can as soon as possible. All that oily gunk building up in the intake tract and on the back of the intake valves for 29K miles can't be a good thing for the engine. I read that it also reduces the available octane levels over time as it builds up.
Getting a tune would be the next logical step, but you will lose your powertrain warranty in doing so. Our engines don't get to full throttle until 4K+ rpms from what I hear. It's built into the drive by wire system. And, as far as I know, no one has been able to defeat it even if you have a aftermarket tune. That has to be worth at least a few tenths right there. |

Never to late to get a catch can.
I took my 2013 to a local chevy dealer and had them do an induction cleaning. They basically force feed a chemical kinda like seafoam into your engine to burn out all the gunk. The service was $129. Catch can installed. My car runs great ! |

Add the air scoop to wake up the CAI.

I have the front suspension and wheel wells out right now, so would be simple to pop in...but no sense in doing it if its a waste of money. Thanks!

I would definitely say yes. The increase is throttle response is definitely worth it. I would say its good for a couple extra ponies. I put a CAI in before I did my exhaust and I remember how good it sounded. Then I did my exhaust (which sounds bad ass) but I could no longer hear the sound of the CAI over how loud the exhaust was. Then I added the scoop and now the CAI's signature sound is back. At WOT, it sounds sooooo much better than it ever did without the scoop. It's definitely sucking in more cold air. My car is probably running crazy lean right now haha

Too bad there wasn't an aftermarket cowl induction hood option made for these cars that would take the air in from the low pressure area at the base of the windshield like the old Chevelles. Probably not as good as a simple ram air scoop, but it would be a lot more entertaining when driving.
