Been driving Camaro's thru the winter for 30+ years. Snow tires and sand bags in the trunk for weight definitely help.

You learn how to drive them in the winter. With a little skill and patience, you'll be surprised how well Camaro's will perform.

Just remember, reward her with a nice hot bath regularly to get the salt out.

Mine will be driven during the winter as well. I need to start looking for wheel/tire alternatives soon, snow could be less than 10 weeks away!

yea if you have the RS package good luck, it comes with summer tires!
i got mine without it since i did not wanted to spend extra 1000 on top of the 2000 just to get winter tires.

Sports cars are for summer and SUV's are for winter. I keep my babies in a heated garage from November till snow and salt is gone. I have a 2004 Trailblazer and 2008 Polaris Dragon for the winter. Don't use the snowmobile all summer, don't use the sports cars in the winter. Seems a fair trade off. I don't think I could handle it if I had salt slowing eating it away. It's gets EVERYWHERE and you'll never track it all down.

Not everyone can afford multiple vehicles and heated garages....or we'd rather drive the 2010 Camaro in the snow instead of the '68 convertible. Sacrifices...

You said it brother. No thanks!
Good luck to those driving their 2010 Camaro's in the winter/snow. (I'm not being a wise-guy here by saying that. I really mean good luck.)

Swapping out the Pirelli P-Zeros for all seasons.

This is what I will have on for the winter.

Aren't snow tires bad for dry pavement? Here we get a lot of snow, but the roads are plowed quickly... so you may have a ton of snow for one day, but then perfectly cleared dry (but cold) roads for a week... Would all-seasons be better in this situation? Or if I baby it, will I be able to handle it with my summer tires? (i.e. not driving like an ass)

I'm thinking I may want to test it out at least once and see how it handles. If it's too bad, I'll just drive my Fusion in the snow I guess. But as I've said before, I bought the Camaro to drive it, not let it sit around for half of the year...

I'd obviously prefer not to switch the tires back and forth. Storage space is an issue for me (apartment).

Another question I have... with all of the talk about summer tires being bad below 40° or so... Is there any negative affect on the tires themselves when driving in the cold? Because we often have bitter cold weather (single digits and below) for a while, without even getting snow. So most of the time it would just be dry pavement, but very cold... Will this ruin my tires?

Well, just back from the Tire shop... The guy said he could find no cheap rims. He could get, from the dealer, 18" black steel rims @290$/rim. Add 60$ per pressure sensor. Add 250$/tire and the total quickly goes up to 2400$+taxes: 2700$

Or I could put tires on my 20" RS rims for 1500$. He told me that changing the tires would be expensive, about 100$ twice a year... And the snow/salt might damage my rims.

As much as I like the car, I'm starting to think it's not meant for Northern climates.

Try Tire Rack - they have a 18" Rim in Black that may work - see pic below - here's the link to an option including TPMS before shipping at $1,296,: http://www.tirerack.com/snow/WinterW...&Qty5=4&Qty6=4

I researched Performance Winter tires and Bridgestone Blizzak LM-25 comes highly rated/recommended on consumerreports.org over All-Seasons and Performance All-Seasons especially for snow traction.
